Hello all, name is Joe if you are curious. I am 21 years old, I come from a long line of Ford lovers, and do-it-yourselfers. My main automotive passion is for Mustangs, (a modern version of which I own, modify, and love), but a strong second is for pretty much any Ford/Merc that looks cool. I have a great appreciation for modified classics, especially ones that aren't too modified. I like seeing Ford engines still in Ford cars, white wall tires, chopped and sectioned street machines, or untouched crusiers. (I can appreciate any make and model car, but my interest and passion really only peaks for FoMoCo products)

Anyway, enough about boring old me, more about the cars. I will be rescueing a 1946 Mercury Coupe from behind a local man's garage under a sort of lean-to, as soon as I can get a couple people and a trailer lined up, (next week or the following week at the latest). My Grandfather, Father, and I already went to see the car last week, (and the 46 Ford coupe sitting next to it). The Merc is sitting on blocks at the moment, has a LOT of surface rust, the interior roached, but nothing seemed to be rusted though, (although this lean-to was packed with junk, so we could not do a full inspection, we couldn't even look under the hood, but we were told both cars were driven as regular cars till parked over 20 years ago, then they were never touched.) The Ford was not in as nice shape, the whole grill area was rotted away on that car, plus the same surface rust that was on the Merc. The Ford will be rescued as well by the friend of the family that found the cars, be claimed the Ford for himself, and I will be buying the Merc. (the owner wanted both gone at same time)

My father will be helping me with the work on the Merc, while once he finishes his new garage, I will help him with his 1940 Ford Business Coupe that he has. (Great, Great, Grandmother bought it new in 1940, its never left the family, and hopefully never will, no rust/damage, it sat in garage for about 15-20 years, so it needed another restoration, so the car is in pieces right now)

Just thought I'd give ya a lil summery about myself, sorry for the long read, I've been reading your site daily since I saw the Merc, and I'm very excited to start working on it, and to learn a lot from it, my Father ( on top of all he has taught me already), and you all. Thank you. Will post pics of car once I have some.

Welcome. I'm originally from VA, Mouth of Wilson in Grayson County. Can't wait to see pics of your car. It would be cool to see your dad's 40, too. Not too often does a car stay in a family for that many generations.
