I just rolled in about 3 AM today...what a great trip.
I left Oklahoma Friday about 12:30 and figured I would run up to I70 and head west thru Denver...ending up in Manti Utah on Saturday for the Ratfink Panel Jam deal...well it all went to plan until I left denver heading up I70.....about 16 miles past denver I had a couple of inches of snow on the windshield and with my little wipers that left very little visability....so I turned around and got a room.
Next morning it's still snowing so I headed north to I80 and hung a left...thinking I may still get to Utah in time for some fun. Well...about Laramie Wyoming my new tranny was clicking like a baseball card in the spokes of a schwinn bike...but only at low speeds...so all was good.
Unfortunately I didn't get into salt lake until around 4PM and didn't want to push my luck running south to manti...maybe next year.

Grand totals:
about 5000 miles in 3 weeks
only 2 quarts of oil this year!
1 set of tires (damn coker WW bubbled up on the way to the roundup...so I took them all off..fuck'em)
1 transmition ..so far
saw way too many people I consider friends ..you know who you are ...damn I'm bad with names.
Great weekend at the roundup...well worth the trip!
Next year I need to do it again....maybe with something new!
Damn it's good to be back!

yea..the instructors didn't like it when I had enough points to pass before the test...so I put my name on it and answered all a's....so I could get out of there.
Other than that I learned do not volunteer for a 3 week school in Oklahoma! Also learned that Roothawg is one hell of a good guy! with a great family too!

Sounds like a great trip!

Yea, that Colorado weather can fool ya! It will be 65 degrees in Denver, and less than 40 miles to the west you`ll have a white-out!

Learn a lesson Brewsir? One thing you DO NOT want to do in March or April in Denver (or ColoROD0)...is plan a trip thru the mountains on I-70 or any other road in your hot rod...you're subject to weird changing weather...anytime after May you can plan a trip...but you certainly take your chances earlier than that...

One year ago, March 17th, we had a 40 inch snowstorm...Yeah, you read that right...40 inches in one sitting...closed Denver down for two days!!! Even going to Maob, Utah for the first run of the year, at the end of April is risky...two years ago we got 14" on the last weekend of April...had to go to Moab, Utah the southern way...not fun!
