man, i hate to ask,but, 55 ford ideas.

a friend of mine has had a 55 ford customline sitting on the trailer behind the garage for a while.he needs some 49 merc money, so it has to go.its a super solid car , runs and drives to boot.(straight six).so all it needs is some kustomizing.
but after searching for the last few days , i havent found many kustom 55 fords.not any that got me excited , anyway.anybody got any pics saved of kustom 55/56's?i'm having trouble visualising the car .
im thinking of carsontop,but worried about the bracing.
im pretty sure im gonna get it , just need some inspiration.

Man,I sure miss my 55 Ford,I had a killer 400H.P. dual quad 312 hooked to a toploader,here are some pics....the guy I sold it to is doing nothing with it, I lowered the car and grafted 55 merc wagon lights on the rear.The orig.292 needed a rebuild bt that Y-block sounded so wicked thru them smithys.....here are some pics........I have posted these before.......

Here's mine, Not a Kustom though, it's pretty much stock except for the 4bbl. The wheels are black as of yesterday.

DO NOT put a "Carson" on it...especially if it's a 4-door (which you didn't mention in your post!). IMHO it's the wrong era for it...Carsons belong on forties cars...NOT fifties cars.

If you want kustomizing, nose it, deck it, take the handles off, put a tube grille in it (Glory Grills), slam it (three inch blocks in the rear, a coil or two cut in the front), find some fender skirts, maybe a set of Lakers and of course wide whites...leave the six in it, add a set of splits/headers and dual exhausts...DO NOT paint it flat blak, DO NOT put red wheels on it, DO NOT follow the crowd...be an individual...you said you hadn't seen many nice ones...make it a nice one...but do your own thing!!
