This is not spam. I wasn't asked to do this, and am just trying to help. I haven't seen this new magazine yet, but am passing this information on because it will be of interest to many HAMBers and HAMBerettes.
On Saturday night, Jim Gustin, whose E-mail address is dominators20@comcast.net, sent this message to a number of people that included myself:
"Guys, you gotta check out the best new magazine to come along in 40 years. I subscribed two weeks ago and got my first issue in the mail this afternoon. This magazine totally blew me away. You've got to get it! It's got some serious custom rides in there. The layout, the art, the tech stories, and everything else is very professional. It's published out of Southern New England, and the list of contributors includes some real heavies of the hobby."
Jim's message included a forwarded copy of an earlier message from the publisher, Luke Karosi:
"Kustoms Illustrated, Vol. 1 No. 1 is at the printers right now. They will be available for shipping on Monday, March 29th. If you already have a subscription, expect to receive your copy by the end of next week. If you would like to subscribe, please visit the web site at http://www.kustomsillustrated.com/ for more information. Individual copies will be for sale also (visit web site). Interested dealers, please contact me for wholesale rates. Thank you,
Luke Karosi

I ordered a copy through his web site, and sent the paypal, ect. And to my happy surprise, Luke sent me a nice e-mail thanking me and telling me he'd ship my copy out that day! Now try to get that kind of attention from Hot Rod or any of the other "big" mags.
Kinda blew me away. As soon as I have a spare $20, I'll subscribe just because of that. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Luke just dropped off a few copies last night and I must say it looks great! 50 pages, small size to fit in your text books, 100% glossy paper, half the pages are color (and he says he's putting eight more color pages in the next issue!) Mostly from Jersey up thru New England this issue and 99% customs. Great addition to the selection of currently available mags.

Had to go to the way-back machine and dig this post out.. Just wanted to thank Luke for sending me the new mag and other goodies (stickers and Road Agents info). I tell ya what, the mag looks fantastic. If you can keep up that level of quality without compromising the content, you'll have a first class rag. I'm impressed!

I still haven't seen Kustoms Illustrated, but I'm going to subscribe to it.
Since the comments about this magazine were so positive, I'm bringing this thread back up for those who may have missed it a month ago.

I thought it was outstanding - especially for issue #1.
Very cool to have a little mag dedicated soley to customs. I dig hotrods too, but it's just cool to see nothin but customs, page after page.
Also noticed Ron's contributions in there.
Already signed up for a subsription and looking forward to the next issue. Well done Luke.

Guiseppe's mag was Kustom and went belly-up, understandably as it had a V-rod on the cover http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif , he's down to his regular job at freeway magazine
