I had a good day at the swap. I bought 3 18" wire wheels for my 1917 Dodge Modified, two with new tires. I already had 2, so now the set is complete plus one. I also bought some front hairpins for $5.00, and from the same guy I bought a real nice original 28/29 "A" grille shell for $15.00. My buddy picked up an almost new Miller plasma cutter, a new visor and header panel for the 31 "A" coupe we're picking up next weekend. He also bought 2 copper fire extinguishers. The worst part of the day was the drive up and back. Missouri roads are some of the worst I've ever driven on. Driving my lowered truck is like walking barefoot on broken glass. I hit one pothole and thought the front wheel was going to come off. Dean http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I got an unknown windsheild frame, a few harley parts, a transfer punch set, and a pair of fuel pumps for my daily driver. I got to meet sodbuster and porknbeaner. I also got a really bad sunburn. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I also got a sunburn. Did you by the chopped windshield frame for $25.00? Guy was at the end of one of the rows, I almost bought that. Anybody see the old Radar Wheels? I had a friend pick them up for me today. I got 6 of them, 4 15x7 & 2 14x6. They're not perfect, but will clean up ok. Dean http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

From Choprods post earlier:

Yep, I went out there as the sun was rising and saw Grimlok as I was walking in. Found some good deals, Model A roadster doors/74' Vette Headers NOS/32'Ford hood side panels/BIG Box of vintage vanity license plates and frames from the 50's and 60's/Box of Stewart Warners. And I met a bunch of people that I have not seen in a while. I also found a guy as I was at the Nightprowlers booth looking for HOP-UP #5 and he wanted to know if I wanted to buy HOP-UP's, he has boxes full of them from 63' and earlier back to 52'. My dad picked up a 33' Grill and he beat me to a 36' Banjo wheel for $40 bucks.

Oh yea, and I am SUNBURNT. I forgot that it is almost summer and I was in the sun from sunrise to 3:30pm with sunglasses on.

Found THE steering for my car. It's Ford, simple, and right. I tore off all of the tack welded monkey motion garbage when I got home. One bracket and I'm done. Some dirt cheap and perfectly sized headlight buckets to put on the car - the goofy, bulky Guide 682's go back on the wall. Best score was a complete set of wide belt pulleys and generator for my flathead - I could have gone home happy after spending 20 bucks for those parts. Bought a stack of spare covers just to get the ring to cut fenders from. A guy gave me some flathead headgaskets - mismatched but perfect for checking head clearances and such. I did well.

FA Whitewalls - I hoped you were there seeing all of the Chevy wires. The guy with the Morris Minor Woody? That is the guy with the antique store I told you about. The one thing I wish I would have bought was a cheap set of '50 olds shocks. I was pretty disappointed in the complete lack of flathead speed equipment too.

I got a tilt column with gear selector for my '49 Fleetline ($20) and some small asorted stuff but I sold enough to make it worth while.
Hey, I was seriuosly wanting those Radirs for my '54 truck but they were Ford bolt pattern...
The price was way right (I thought about re-drilling everything just to make them work).
I got so see Sodbuster, KCTAChris, KCMongo and Grimlock (placing first with the best score of the day). Couldn't find Porknbeaner, Fatassedwhitewalls or Recycler...

Wasn't able to find anything for my roadster. I see someone else got some hairpins that I was looking for...I'll double your money for them...

[/ QUOTE ] The hairpins will proably get put to use, on the front of the 31 "A" we're picking up this Sat. It has 4 bar now. Don't want to run the 4 bar. The Radars will go on a super secret project I have. Hey I just remembered I have Rocky's Rambler, they'll fit that too! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif If I decide to sell any of it you have first choice. Dean

Late Post..
The best thing I scored was an old siren for my truck, sounds like a tornado or air raid siren.
Also was handed a set of front springs for my 53 Chevy truck and a whole bucket full of Air regulators and several rolls of wire free from a guy I know.
Sold a bunch of Raven's stuff for him, and a seat that's been eating up my garage space for too long.
Anybody want a player piano cheap?

This was my first time there - pretty impressive, and overall, I have to say I thought the prices were reasonable (compared to a lot of what I've been seeing). Also, I liked the way they had a separate area for people who were selling cars only.

I picked up a "period correct" Mr.Gasket finned cover for my 10-bolt GM rear end, and a never used 10.5" Chevy pressure plate for $10. My big score though was finding a '60s era Sun Tach, with chrome cup and steering column mount - along with an NOS (!) sending unit for a 6-cylinder.

I've been looking for a 6-cylinder Sun tach setup since I started my retro-rod project almost 3 years ago, and hadn't really seen anything worth while. The tach heads are around, but to find a brand new sender (still in the box, with original warranty, etc) for a 6-banger just blew me away.

I had to pay a premium ($225 for the whole mess - the most expensive item I've bought so far), but I figured there would never be another chance.

My buddy found a nice finned aluminum oil pan for a SBC for $50.

It was about a 3-hour drive down from Nebraska - and I imagine it's hotter than the hubs of hell (as my dad used to say) for the July meet, but I'll definately be back there next spring.
