First a big thanks to the HAMB classifieds, Dusty for selling the car to me & being very honest & trusting through the whole deal, also to BenD for doing a first class job taking the A from Missouri to Stanton CA...i would highly recomend him if you need transportation.

You shoulda had it delivered here to me Kev, I would have borne the burden of running it down to Paso for you in May....and taking it out for the occasional run in between, just to keep it all running ok.....

See ya in May.

On the last 200 miles of its journey home, should make a start towards the end of the year after clearing up a few other jobs.
Dave you should have said...it would have saved on the shipping costs!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not to get too off topic, but what size tires are on it? Are they 16" rims? Just curious, since I have to do some tire shopping soon.

Chris you can have a ride anytime!!!
Dave you'll have to be nice to me & adopt me.....dad!

& inkorekt the rears are 7.50x16 Firestones not sure on the front size but they are unusual Cokers i think....if Dusty see's this post he'll confirm it!

thanks guys.

32,
I'd a rubbed great handfuls of grease all over that baby, and sprayed WD40 in every orifice before it ever left the hot country. I KNOW what rain and salt do to bare steel.
Cheers, Paul B
ps. I live in 'the wetlands' too.

Hey, 32, I saw that car in person at Dustys, I really liked what Dusty had done to it.It has a very traditional look about it,that just screams "HOT ROD!!!" Dusty is a real good guy to deal with and you got a great car.Looks like all the good stuff here is leaving the country!Keep us posted on what you do to it and hope you have loads of fun with it.Later.

Kev, Glad to see it made it OK. Good luck with it, ya got a cool little Hot Rod there.

I've only put 20,000 miles on my truck since I dropped off the coupe in sunny So-Cal in February. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Glad to see you got it without any probs.
Whats your plans for the old girl?

LIMEY

Thanks, well i'm not going to crazy like on the 32.....but will keep it from having any off the shelf parts & just stick with old parts. A big attraction with the car was its overall look & stance & the fact Dusty had only tack welded much of the assy.....so i still have an easy choice with any changes i would like, i even like the colour of the wheels...being lime! didn't you have a dress that colour!!!
The carbs will be the most interesting addition because i can guarantee they will be a first in the history of the flathead, quite a claim but i'll put money on it! not saying what they are just yet but they date mid 30's & i have two already!
The front will sport a '34 truck grille & some very low '39 Packard headlights (i think you've seen them) any way that should give you some idea.
are you driving the roadster yet??

Hiya Limey

Neat car, now if your looking for ideas on colour!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

(I wondered why that dress didn't fit me anymore!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Taildraggin won't be driving the roadster this year (only in his dreams) Gotta get truck back on road then he can play with the rod as he'll have more space in the garage. (can't move for truck bits at mo http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif) At least he's got new carb on poncho so that's sorted out some of the probs he was having with that so that's another toy less to play with. Then maybe just maybe he'll actually get the rod finished!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

See you Friday

A good start on what should be one very cool hot rod. I hate to see OUR tin going overseas but what better home than in the hands of a fellow HAMBer. Do us proud finishing the build.
I likewise am looking forward to the UNIQUE carb application.

fab32 thanks i too am looking forward to this carb setup, only a half dozen cars used them here in the 30's so pretty rare, half of what i need sits on my kitchen table right now & anyone that's seen them comments "i didn't know they made them"
As soon as i find some more i'll do a mock up & post some pics.
Really enjoyed the post with your shop & Denise's car, looks like heaven to me! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
