I think it was "Smitty" that wanted to see the Bubble car rite side up. well after a lot of body filler sandding here it is!
still have lots & lots of work to do on the outside, I still have to mold the interior "UGH!" I was'nt gonna post pics till i had in in some sort of primer coat but after talking to Mark on the phone today I figured what the hell! April 4th being the day that Ed pass'd on got me to thinking about how he and any other body guys took on a big job like this, it was all blocks & hand boards man, no air tools to speak of, Geez thats a bunch of work, you really gotta hand it to them guys. I guess i know now why Ed's hands and forarms were so friggin huge!! anyhow this is the car so far & "Big Daddy" is still my friggin Hero!

Again, I am amazed at the talent within the membership of this forum.

That is just an incredible piece of glasswork, do you have a paint color in mind for the finished car? Or is it going to be a surprise for us all?

If truth be told,FritzFink....Ed would stare quietly for awhile, ask why anyone would try to recapture the early 60's,stare some more.....then start asking you questions about what you used and how you solved this or that problem...then start smiling, use the big German guy laugh and SIGN the car somewhere!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
And I would give anything to see that happen.....
BEST of luck with this great project!

Wow that is an assload of work. Much respect for the grueling hours of sanding, it will all be worth it first time you roll out onto the street.

hey Johnny-Ace:
Thanks for the kind words!
I have often ask'd myself why the early 60's style show cars?!?!?! I guess i just need to get one of 'em outta my system.......to be honest I love Ed's stuff but have a strong affection for his latter work. I am very into the whole front wheel drive set up in the rear of a car thang. Buildding a fiberglass body is a bunch of work, sandding , grindding, but i have this little 4 cyl. ford escourt i cant wait to cut into and buid another car! something L.A. Zoom or globe hopper'ish.
the fun & thrill of a project like this far out weights the harsh grunt work that is involved.
Now how do i get you to do some T-shirt art for me??????
