I like the scallops, I saw it in the flesh so to speak and it looked alright....I didn't get a boner over the flames though....flames or scallops but not both....but it can be fixed for $3 worth of Krylon. Rub that shit with some fine steel wool like dude did with his truck and shine it up and it'll look much more lovely

Ummm, that looks a whole lot more like a later Buick than a SBF. The last time I checked my 289 the dizzy was pointing straight up, not angled off to the drivers side like on a 455.

Oops, you're right. The distributor is all wrong for a SBF. Plus, the offy valve covers have the breather hole above the Offenhauser name. All the Offy covers for SBFs I've seen either have no breather, breathers on the ends, or breathers in the center below the Offenhauser name.

I agree, it's probably a 60's Buick or later. It could be a Buick/Rover aluminum V8, one of my favorite V8s...
