So I've got access to a FREE 72 Datsun pickup,
Now, I know this isn't a "typical" hot rod starting point,
But I've been planning on making it my "not low budget, NO budget" project-

Why'm I postin' this HERE?

-How many of you have old car crap you don't need and don't want to go through the hassle of selling?

Not GOOD stuff,
but GARBAGE!
Old, off-brand, rusted, broken crap-

I'd really like some type of body,
Fiberglass, bent, rusted-out, damaged, WHATEVER!

So....
If you have anything, ANYTHING you aren't using
(or don't NEED)
Please!
Let me know!
Axles, dashes, steering wheels, wheels, old tires(?) etc.

(I'm always up for trading to if it's "real special")

PM me!
(I'm not on the 'net too much anymore)

...And if it's REALLY decent stuff, I wouldn't be against buying ya a beer or two in trade!
(unless you're JimA, then I think it's a bottle of coke...?)
Thanks!

You gonna use the 4 banger outta that Datsun? I MAY know were you can get a COMPLETE '53 Ford F-1 front suspension/brakes extremely cheap(like $20). I'll be home at the end of the month and I'll get with you and we'll go see what we can get you from this dude out North of Lincoln.

Why don't you use the cab from the Datsun? You said you wanted to do it CHEAP! I think there's nothing wrong with utilizing what you have on hand. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

What shape is the bed in?
Back in the eighties a guy used the sides of a Datsun PU bed to make a track roadster body. Search the Hot Rod archives and maybe you can find it. It was one of their tech articles. Looked pretty cool.
Find yourself a grill shell and your halfway home.

My old altered used one of those frames! A freind has a 31 A coupe sitting on the rails now. It fits just inside, like a perimeter frame! I have nothing to get rid of though.

I think that was Hotrod Mechanix, the Tex Smith publication that later merged with American Rodder.

Dick Dean used to sell kits to put a Model A body on those Datsun chassis,
called Dotrod or something similar. It fit pretty good,if you didn't mind the ugly front suspension.
