Camaro T-5 question

On the T-5s most Camaros had is reverse gear engaged by pressing the shift lever down first or just moving it to the side?

I think you lift UP on it...but it's been years...so I may be remembering it wrong!

On the t-5 you shouldn't have to push or lift. But, on a T56 6 speed you lift a little to get into reverse.
