My girlfriend is an awsome artist, so one day I said paint an exhaust pipe and this is what I got....its hangin on my lounge wall.....I also said a few years back that I love a certain SRV album cover....came home to this painted on my bathroom door:D ....I was renting and have since moved, so I had to unbolt and take it with me haha.......you can see the door handle for perspective of the size.....Im on dial up so I had to loose a shitload of quality....hope you guys like...never posted in art show before.:) .........Bert

Another outstanding show! The work here is beyond inspirational. Thanks to all who post. I did this panel last week for the Pinstripe Legends auction up in Milwaukee in January at the WOW. I scanned an old mag, stuck it to .080 aluminum and striped it. According to Pat Ganahl in his book about Von Dutch this particular issue featured the first occurrence of pinstriping on a feature car in HRM and the car was from Indiana!

I'm strapped into a harness hanging out the back of a small pickup. I use a Canon 20D camera. This was the middle of the day so there was to much light for a long exposure. I doubled up two density filters on top of each other to bring the light down and set my exposure to 1/8 of a second at f/4, 100 ISO. You hhave to do a long enough exposure to get those wheels to really spine. We were doing about 50 mph. The tough thing is dealing with camera shack. You have to hold it as still as possible and take LOTS of shots. I took about 75 to get this one. And no, no photoshop.

the late Bruce "deuce" Olsen taught me the key to good photography long ago while looking at my pictures from the drags.
"take lots of pictures and throw away the crummy ones before your friends see them" ... he's looking at my pics as he says this and starting a small pile to the side "shoulda tossed this one.. and this one... and this one...
I've never taken 75 to get one great one, but that looks like a difficult pic to capture.

That is one thing nice about shooting digital. The stip of road I shot that Buick on had lots of patches of light so it was difficult to get one with no shadows on the car. I call it the Shotgun Method TM.
