I started dateing my girlfriend about a year ago and she has a stock 29' Ford Woody that she inheirited from her Father after he past away. And as far as I now he and his father built it in 1970 and it has been running ever sence. And I don't think it has been mechcanicly touch sence then either, but it still runs great. It has a extream sentimental value to her. Like scratch or nick has a family story behind it. So anytime anything little has come up like the horn not working or the tail lights going out she has a hard time fixing anything. Not that she can't fix it, she is very mechcaniclly savy, but that it always reminds her of her Dad. It's a sad story but she has a good sence of humor about it.
Well to make a long story short we moved in together about a month ago and everytime I walk into the garage I just stand there and stare at the car. I just want to start wrenching on it. Sence I don't know a thing about cars older then 1965, I want to start exploring the innerds, if you know what I mean. She has caught me a couple of times staring at it. She says I'm undressing it with my eyes. I'ved tried to tell her that I won't change anything I just want to help her kep it on the road, which is true, but... I want to do my own thing. She says I'm just jealous I don't have one. Which is true very true. BUT SOME DAY, SOME DAY I WILL HAVE MY OWN. Hopefully a 32 Ford coupe :D
Until then, I have convienced her to start replaceing the electrical. Staring with the taillights / brake lights and hopefully upgrading to a blinker setup, but trying to keep it as stock as possible.
