Allow me to apologize in advance for these inane ramblings...
Until this afternoon I was quite convinced that I was the only person with even the slightest chance of reading more than one issue of Ol Skool Rodz (God, it kills me to type that) but then, while enjoying my lunch in the strip-mall by the bookstore what to my wondering eyes should appear but two counterculture types in an early-sixties Dodge (identifying Mopars of that vintage is not my forte, I thought it was a Falcon four-door until I saw the taillights) four-door econo-car in gray primer. It didn't look half-bad with its black steelies and little caps. Oddly it had spring shackles (giving me the impression, at first, that it had duals) but I'm pretty sure it's still the old slant-six under the hood (I went outside to check it out just as they fired it up). I kept thinking what a great sleeper it would make with a built 318 under the hood and a shift-kitted Torqueflyte.
So, should I seek them out and try to persuade them not to paint the wheels red? I don't have greased hair and a chain wallet, though, so they might not listen to me. Nevertheless, it was interesting to know that I'm not the only one with "the disease" in this town.
