28/29 A sport coupe

im trying to get this rear cross peice on my sport coupe straight..the pannel above the trunk...its very badly beaten by someone?...so i was wondering if anyone with one of these could tell me if the top edge is straight or does it have a slight curve to it?...or if anyone has this pannel they would sell cheap?...im not sure why mine is so bad but its really throwing me off and i think im just gona work it to death because i donlt know how it "should" be

I doubt very much it is supposed to be absolutely straight.
Straight,flat,panels are prone to "oilcanning" and generally look terrible.
Maybe it's supposed to look straight.

There is a pretty clear pic of that panel on my Roadster.
( The back half of my car was off a Sports coupe as well...)

Hey KustomKoupe, if the weather is good this Saturday, go to Soda Jerk. There's an OG one that goes a lot. It's for sale. Or drive through the town of Union Deposit on Main Street on a nice Sunday it may be sitting out for sale on the street. I wouldn't use the Hotrod word, though, if you talk to him.

It probably matters less how it was "originally" done than how you want it to line up. What makes the most sense to you? Do you want it matched to a trunk that you have?

good point...i have the stock rumble seat lid..that im gona run 49 ford trunk hinges and make a trunk...this thing is just so bad i had no idea...i think im just gona put a slight bow in it and go with that...i have the original package tray and that has a huge arch but i thought that was wrong...oh well i think i know what im gona do
