I have a squeak in the engine of my '63 pontiac. I have eliminated the w\p and alt. as the source. can a fuel pump squeak? I am trying to not think about it being a rod or main bearing. Anyone every experienced this? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'd try and eliminate it, by going to Autozone and putting an electrical fuel pump, if it continues ya know that's it..I replaced my nailheads pump w/ electrical, I cannot complain... Mech. pumps suck.. my opinion

I just need to know if anyone has ever experienced a squeaky pump before. It sure sounds like that is where it is coming from.

is a vaccum fuel pump? if so you could have a little crack somewhere and have a vaccum leak. I wouldnt think a rod or anything would squeak?? Check all your vaccum lines, thats what i would say it is. Nate
