ok here goes. my name is brady. have been married for 17 years. two kids: girl 13 and boy11. i live in mesa, az. i work as an a/p mechanic for an airline here in phx. i currently am trying to finish my flathead powered 53 ford p/u. it is painted red (vermillion) has wide whites with red steelies. white rolls/pleats with red piping. offy 2 carb intake offy heads 12v generator mallory magnetic/electronic distributor. i am trying to have it idle without back firing through the exhaust. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. also i am working on making some bomber seats. having trouble finding hat channel extrusion for the back of the seats. also having trouble finding "p" shaped extrusion for the perimeter of the seats. that is what my 2 posts are about. my next project is a 1930-31 ford roadster body that i want to make a traditional hot rod out of.

Welcome. Don't know anything about flatheads, but I also want to build some seats. I have a bead roller, but I am also needing the edge material. Post some pics of your truck!
