When installing steering universals on a Gm column, the longer bolt lines up with the original hole at the bottom of the column. The other bolt you tighten against the column shaft, should I drill a "cup" for that bolt to go into, or just tighten the bolt up tight against the shaft? Same on the rod that connects the box to the column, should I drill those also?

Not absolutely necessary-BUT sounds like a little safety thinking to me....ya might also put some Loctite on the allen screw.

Spot drill them for sure. Then check the the set screws and lock nuts for tightness every so often.
