I build very precise stuff for the world of High Energy Physics. My real passion is not science though. I got into this line of work because of a background in art and building motorcycles. Somehow the combination of the two makes me a perfect candidate for the kind of engineering done here at UCSB. You have to think outside of the box and cannot refer to the "book" on how to do a job. We are writing the "book" as we go.
I have a 60 Cadillac named Maybelline, (long story on the name). I have owned her since 81 and various changes happen as time goes on. various motorcycles in the garage inlude...47 Indian Chief bobber, (as seen in Trad. Hot Rods and Culture), 47 Knucklehead bobber, 74 Triumph TR5T, 71 Triumph Trophy, Indian Bonneville racer, 93 FXR Police bike, and my regular commuter bike, 2005 Road Glide. My wife Rhonda rides the police bike. We rode to Bonneville this past Speed Week to assist Micky Goodin and Duncan Keller of Yankee Enginuity set a new record at 167 and change with his XR750.
I have worked in motorcycle shops and hot rod shops doing fab work as well as my daily job. I have three dogs, one of which rides with me daily to work as he has for more than a decade...Shorty is a dedicated bike dog. He as put more miles on motorcycles than most people that call themselves "bikers".
Any questions?;)
