Hi all,
I had been told several times in the past I should join up here and check it out. I would look around, read posts and check out the cool pics of cars at races or works in progress. Very interesting site with a lot of info.
I was daddy's "boy" and spent my younger years in the grease with dad. Not a better place to be back then. Sitting on buckets in a huge pan of gas with brushes in hand cleaning blocks. Sounds crazy but I loved it all except the cleaning of my feet with cleanser and a scrub brush which tickled like crazy!
I have a '64 Ford Galaxie XL convertible that I call the Shotrod and now is the Red banana after being tboned a couple years ago. I have all the parts now so one day I'll get the cash saved to get it all fixed again. I learned to drive in this car and later this became my first car in 1977. Powered by a 390, bored .040 over and RV cam. Nothing too special. Engine painted non-Fordly. Grabber green, blue and frogs but I love it, it's different. Been almost 3 yrs since I painted it so getting a bit scuffed. Don't think I'll do it again, took a lot of time and husband hollering hurry up so we can get that thing in the car.
So although it isn't what it once was, neither am I and I just keep enjoying it and driving it regardless of others' opinion. It'll get fixed some time, til then I'm driving it like henry intended it to be.
Hope to get to know a lot of you that I don't know already and gather knowledge I hope to maybe retain 1/3 of! :)
