Hello all! My name is Tommy Thompson and I live in central Virginia. I am fairly new to the classic car world. I purchased a 1950 DeSoto deluxe club coupe last Feb and just bought a 1949 Olds. model 76 that was delivered yesterday. I do not claim to be an accomplished mechanic, but I am very mechanical and don't mind reading and figuring things out. I also don't mind asking for guidance and advice from those more knowledgable than I. I've had countless people help me over some major Desoto hurdles. I'm hoping to find some Oldsmobile gurus here to help me the hurdles to come.

Welcome to the HAMB. Where in central Virginia are you? I'm in Richmond, so if we're close enough, I'd be happy to help you out when/where I can.

BTW, I have a 52 or 53 Desoto Sportsman in the woods of my brother-in-law's property. It's got a 276 hemi that I plan to pull sometime this Fall or Winter.

Hey, are you the Tommy Thompson from the Tim McGraw song "Don't take the Girl"? ;) Sorry, just had to say that! Welcome, it's good to have you aboard. Nice car.
