Let me begin by saying I have been a lurker for quite sometime now. I have been encouraged (by HAMBERS) to come out of the shadows and out from under the cars, to properly introduce myself. I have a small shop (Incognito Automotive) in the Texas hill country outside of Austin. I do general auto repair/ and restoration work. I was born into the automotive repair field. My dad had me doing brake jobs ECT... by the time I was 9 years old and painting by 12. He moved me along at a rapid pace with good fundamentals in most areas. I grew up at the drags and the dirt bike tracks. My passion is quality workmanship, of witch, I have seen plenty examples of, here on the Hamb. I am 31/ married/ no pets/no kids-yet/ and built the 29 Ford modified at the Round up. I started on Feb. 15(full time) with the frame rails cut out, wishbones were split, the chassis was mocked up and tacked together, including the “against the grain” spring configuration. My goal was to make it to the round - up, witch almost did not happen. It was worth it.......

I hate you. That's about where I am now and I've been at it for over a year. Very cool car.

I was in a hate (myself) mode at that point(of pict.) . My "good deal" inline was locked up from siting with a tea spoon amount of water in the last bore. It made the mid-ways hump alot bigger. I just had to remind myself " If others have done this, so can I. If a man built it, a man can fix it and it looks like I'm him...... that sucked. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Welcome to the HAMB. I think I met you Sunday, but didn't realize exactly who I was meeting. I LOVE that car. Hopefully, we can talk more at the drags. Apparently, Barnett is excited to have another 6 banger to race at the drags. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not sure if you mentioned this, but what size and year is the 6? I am running a 6(actually a 250 with a 350 trans) in my Pontiac and this past weekend has kinda given me the idea to keep it instead of putting in a 350. I think it would be kinda cool to pull it and go thru it, hop it up.

I have about 2 inch up front and 3.5 in the rear. It will be fitted with friction shocks shortly and intake and exhaust mods. Can't wait till the drags. Motor has been punched out with mild head work and a cam ect... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey Moe - welcome aboard - That is one sweet modified!!! How far back & how did you mount those the front springs on the frame? What tranny you running with the 6in-a-row? What type brakes do you have on the front hubs?
Thanks DOGG

That's plenty of movement..., unless your crossing Braker Rd or Thermal!!! (almost knocked my teeth out down there!) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Heck..., Krupanut's Highboy has less travel than that and it's not a bad ride when he takes the Square tires off!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am out in the big city of Marble Falls. It is nice and quiet, and home of the Blue Bonnet Cafe. The pie is GREAT!!! I grew up in Houston. I worked in Austin for a couple of years, it got old quick. It is far out, but close enough to Austin and S.A. so you can go get something if you have to.........

Moe,
Glad you made it. You and your wife are great people and it doesn't hurt that you are a quality builder. You will have no problems on the HAMB, and you will have lots to contribute.
The Barons junkyard run is coming up, I'll pm you later.

Moe, welcome aboard...

That car was the first one I saw when I arrived at the show... (yes I got there LATE as FUCK http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif) Well it wasn't the FIRST one...but when I saw it sitting alone in the grass, I was immediately atracted to it. My girlfriend couldn't understand why I took more pics of that car than any other, and why I kept kurking around it.

Anyways, like I said, welcome...cool car...see ya! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds like me and a bunch of other folks are about as excited about your car as you are. That's about the cleanest and most creative suspension set up around. I know you've been wanting to get a hot rod on the road for a while. Im glad you found the time.

Welcome buddy!

Thanks everyone, I am glad you like it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Some of my friends around town say that when I drive it, " you have a strange smile on your face" . I just can't help it. I think, I saw the same look on Anti-chrysler face when he was taking some of the Barons for a ride. Sometimes you just have to smile. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey Moe, your car is as sweet as it gets. I took lots of pics of your fab-work. Very clean, very functional. Marble Falls is beautiful country. I drove my model A there for a car show back in the fall. I know of a couple of a few other cool rods being built out there (Keller's rpu for one). It seems like I should know you. Look me up if you get to Round Rock.

Very nice Moe. I really like the sicks.

Can you explain the spring setup. Kinda looks like a quarter eliptic but with shackles? What does it use for lateral movement?

Marble Falls is an Awesome area...!

First time there I was at the Drag Boat races and my friend was running his Jet engine 16' tunnel there!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
