does the 4 lug and the 5 lug mustang 2 use the same spindle?i have a doner car but its 4 lug ,it had a 302 in it ,so im guessing it would be strong enough ,but how do i change to 5 lug ?oh ya its one of the 78-79 cars little hatchback

A 79 Mustang is not a Mustang II, but a 78 would be.
To change to 5-lug rotors on a Mustang II all you need is...new rotors!
You can also upgrade to 11" discs from the factory 9" discs if you wish to go that far, but if your goal is simply to swap to 5-lug wheels, then a new set of 9" rotors with the 5 lug pattern of your choice (4.5 or 4.75 inch circle) is all you need!
They swap out with your stock units.
(Factory 5-lug rotors are available to equip early 4-lug Fox chassis (79-93) Mustangs with 5-lugs)

Fat Hack is right, What you have is a FOX body mustang, they are all the same for the most part from '79 to '93 and will not make a good doner car...the front end is a strut setup.

The only thing usable from your '79 Fox body is the steering rack. Most of the aftermarket crossmember can handle either the FOX or the earlier Mustang II rack. The Fox rack is a much closer ratio and it eliminates the touchy feel that the earlier power steering racks have.

what parts can you actually salvage from a donor mustang 2? what about some pinto's? can you use parts from them? i run across both of these in junkyards.

Can't you just add the entire spindle and brakes from a 77-80Granada to your ball joints/a arms?
