HEY GUYS, I'm kinda new here and not sure of all the rules and regulations. In the short time I've been here I've had 5 (five) threads killed? I guess I learn from my mistakes. I dont do no-no posts to be a dick or start shit, once again not sure of the does and donts? One problem I have is my current car (flavor of the month) is to new 68, I understand there has to be a cut-off and its 64. Although its done in a 70's Bellflower style, no billet, no hi-tech state of the art equiptment. I'm not an old man but not a kid either. I've been around this shit my whole life, hell I was named after my parents car club "THE LANCERS" out of Long Beach Ca. Not to toot my own horn but I've had cars you've probly read about or seen on TV or even jacked off to. Any way I kinda get treated like a criminal when posting something off topic or a pic of my "new car" and when I ask why (to help me learn for future post) I get smart ass coments (not all but some), once again like I'm trying to cause problems here, I'm not. I'm on alot of similar websites, hell I get paid to visit sites and check on current on goings in the indutry. But the HAMB is the best I've seen by far and I dig it. Just curious is this common practice to police the site and make us feel like dumb shits? Any way this post will probly get killed but if you had a chance to read it I'm going to take a break until I get a car that is pre 64 or approved by the staff. All you local OC boyz and girls I will continue to come hang on Tuesdays in Yorba Linda.bye-bye:(

Just ignore them....

Don't feel bad. I pulled a bunch of pics of the local hot rod association because the "rusty" one indicated that my pics were "garbage" and pretty much indicated they should not be here. I didn't want to upset the feelings of the folks that spent time on their hot rods. I didn't want them to see the post. How sad it that. I'm guessing that I don't belong here because I'm only a lady nostalgia funny car driver. And unless you "wrench" on a hot rod or are somebody's girlfriend you don't belong here. :(

Nope, not true Beegator...you can certainly "belong"...here or anywhere else...except, there are those that think they have the rights to bash you, tell you where to go & what to do and generally be a dick...ignore those people...IF you contribute to this board...you are welcome...

And Faded...there are rules and regulations to EVERYthing...boards included...if the moderators let you put your late model pix up...(or any other thread that got killed) they'd have to let every other newbie that has a post '64 car do it and let the O/T posts stand...and where would that get us...NOT the traditional board it is...

The only people both of you need to worry about is 1.) Ryan, the owner of the site...2.) Kevin Lee, moderator, 3.)Curious Rash, moderator, 4.) Corncob, moderator, 5.) Rocky, moderator...the rest you can tell to go F themselves cuz you're here to stay...

Yeah, those get Closed and Deleted all the time.
Because they are not what this Board is for ( Traditional Hot Rods & Customs )

The Classifieds have a strict Cut Off Date.

The Hamb itself doesnt.

There was a Good Thread recently about a Late '60s Chevy, for example...

So keep posting and enjoying the place, but just try not to start Threads about stuff thats too far Off Topic and/ or creates Drama...

Faded,
Before you post anything in the classifieds, please re-read the rules to become familuar with them.

If you have anything to post that for some reason creates a question, please send a PM question to any of the moderators whose names are listed at the botton of the classifieds BEFORE you post.

We will be more than happy to answer your questions and will tell you yes or no to something you consider posting.

And - no your 1968 will not get posted as it would not be fair to the other 100 guys that have requested to post newer than 64 vehicles in the last 2 years.

Stick a round and observe for a awhile - re read the rules a couple more times and have some fun.

Thanks,

Dude,

You will have to grow some thick skin to hang here...

Tuck CAN close ads. As can I. I choose not to moderate the main board unless it gets WAY out of hand.

Quite a few things you said in your first post in this thread will rub people the wrong way. While I don't doubt a word of it, you must understand that we've heard it all before and it just comes off as internet brovado. We've got enough of that to float forty message boards. Posting OT stuff right out of the gate does not help us believe your claims. Surely with your background you can understand what we are trying to do here and see how those threads were dragging rivets through the laquer.

As for taking a break. Go for it. You've been here since August so you must be exhausted. ;) Come on back when you're ready. We'll be here. Not trying to be a smart ass, just saying you should try and view things through the eyes of those who have been grinding this thing out for years to keep this place what it is.

I recently had a post deleted and right fully so it was o/t.
But I did PM a moderator with a couple other questions I had, never got a reply or told which moderator I would need to contact.

So Who are we suppose to PM if we do have a question about something that there is no general answer to? in my case I searched the Question and Suggestion forum to see if someone had a similar situation but there was nothing there so I PMed a moderator, just curious?
thanx.

This all depends on the question. I will tell you this, if I delete and ad for an obvious rule break you will get a message that tells you to read the rules and to NOT REPLY to the automated message. I will not reply to responses regarding the automated message if I believe the rules spell it out sufficiently. Don't know if I might be that mod you speak of, can't tell you how many PM's I get in any given day.

You will notice on all of the boards within the HAMB that the moderators for that particular board are listed at the bottom right of the page. If your question is specific to a certain board, any or all of the mods listed should be able to help you. If it is HAMB specific in general Kevin or Ryan are your safest bets. These guys get more PM's than the rest of us put together and work very hard to answer them all but there is only so much time in a day and I'm sure they hit the high spots first. You should exhaust all other means of finding your answer (search) before resorting to PM'ing them.

You can check any of my posts. I'm not here to start shit, I'm here to share my knowledge and experiences with people that share the same interest as I? I'm not one of those that just throw in my .02 cents just because. I know damn well I have more knowledge and experience than most of the people here who pretend to. I also know respect is earned not given and I need to earn your respect. But the blatent DISRESPECT given by some of your team is unacceptable! And at least I have a car or two, most of these hillbilly inbreds on the site dont have shit to show but the old jalopy thats rotting down by the pond in their little midwestern town! I to have a fucked up sense of humor. In a recent editorial in STREET TRUCKS MAG by Jeremy Cook written on me, Jeremy quotes: "I will never get tired of explaining to people how giving a bad first impression is Lance's favorite past time" Thats me and its hard to explain. And then he follows with "although he's the funniest person I know and would give you the shirt off his back". This is me, my bitch is when I error on your site these power stricken moderaters treat me like a dumb fuck, true I need to earn my wings but what about the other guy, this is not a good way to earn respect from the little guy??

I think there has just been a lot of misunderstanding here. I closed the post on the main board with the ebay link. The idea is that when stuff is fort sale here it's to help out other people on the HAMB and put some money in your pocket - not get top dollar.

I saw the blatant link, closed the thread and directed you to the classifieds. Assuming you would read the rules there and take them into account. I honestly didn't notice your car was past the cutoff date. But I don't think it's too out of line to say you should pick up on that sort of thing fairly quickly just by looking around the place.

Just chill out. We're not trying to hide your dissatisfaction. And we're not trying to gang up on you. Just so happens you broke a few rules. If you want to break it down post by post we can tell you what happened. I'm serious. If you're interested we're here.

Faded,
Actually your statement may clarify some things.
There are over 18,000 members on this site ranging from all walks of life.
It would be fair to say that most on here are basic / no frills / build a older traditional Hot Rods and customs with what ever parts that can be swapped/ bartered / found / rented and sweated for.

Most on this board seek your statement above. They would love to find that "rotting old jalopy" down by the pond in ANY LITTLE TOWN, and frankly wouldn't care who owned it.
They only know that probably THEY would like to own it and bring it back to life, get her going , take her down the road and live Americana to its lifes fullest.

I live in the Midwest as a matter of fact but take no offense to what you said because I have been on here long enough to not let that crap bother me. The other reason is, there is a LOT of "Old Jalopies" rotting down by the river that is a blast to find and frankly I wouldn't want too many guys lerking around my back yard trying to steel my undescovered treasures.

As far as who you are and whatever magazine you are in - we had a post awhile back about who had cars in what magazines and articles etc.
I lost count on how many guys and what months and years they were in.

As far as getting your posts deleted, if you break the site rules they will get deleted.

EVERYONE on here puts their pants on one leg at a time including the ladies and pretty much everyone isn't higher on the ladder of life.

It's the CARS that will get you respect if you are looking for, but like people's taste, that will vary A LOT.
So - remember - this is for fun - I take just as much ribbing as anyone else and this is a big garage with a lot of different personalities.

The rules are to keep things smooth.
How do you think this got to be the Bitchinest site on the planet ?

Ok, HAMBers. First off, I'd like to apologize for bringing a nonsense thread back to the top. But being the LBCC Socal chapter prez, I have to respond.

Faded, I'm glad you feel welcomed on our board. It's our goal to make everyone feel that way, no matter what you drive. But the fact will always remain that the HAMB gave birth to Los Boulevardos. There would be no LBCC as it is today without the HAMB. We're proud of that fact. We may run things a bit differently, but at the end of the day, there's nothing but respect for Ryan and this community. I just want to clear the air. Not all HAMBers will be Boulevardos, but LBCC's founding members were all HAMBers. Faded is correct in saying that our site and our board is a cool place to hang. I invite everyone to come check it out.

I fly my LBCC plaque and my HAMB alliance tag side by side. Period.

I cant help but think you are still missing the point entirely...

The main thing is that you find a place to hang out where you are happy.

That could be here or on an other Board somewhere.

If it is here, the only thing you should do to return the favor is Post relevant stuff, and not stink up the place with O/T Threads and Drama.

While an appology is nice and polite, an'all... it's also more Drama.

So for your next Post, I'd much rather see some kick ass Tech, or something.
