Anybody know anything more about this car than what's in the caption? I'm getting seriously into the channelled, East Coast look these days. In case you can't read the caption it says: "Jack Schleich's potent '49 Olds-powered deuce gets added boost from a McCulloch supercharger. Carburetion is handled by a single 4-throater. Four fuel pumps provide top distribution."

Oh, and it'd be really cool if anybody had a better picture than this.

It's from Custom Rodder, March, 1959. I thought it was black, but honestly I don't know. Kind of an unusual induction setup for a street car in the fifties, isn't it? I'd probably run dual quads on the Olds, if it were mine.

Hey Bigcheese, check out this link! It has the deuce you're after plus a lot of other similarly-styled rods.

The www.vs57.com (http://www.vs57.com) website is all about the McCulloch Supercharger.

This photo is of my father and he's still alive and kicking although not connected to the online world. Any info you might be looking for, let me know; I can sit with him and my laptop to reply with info. That was an awesome rod!

I think it could be a early picture of the deuce that was on the "beach Boys" little deuce coupe album. That was before it all the radical custom work was done to it and it appeared on the cover. Look at the book "Hot Rod Milestones" its in there with an early pic.
