You could sue Uhaul, they might pay up rather tan go to court, if the clain is small.

Some uninsured motorist policies cover and some only cover if you have collixion.

Duct Tape does work wonders...After you get it on the driver of the U-Haul. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Didya get a partial license plate #? Call around to the Uhaul places in your area, describe the size of the truck, ask if any have been returned damaged... see if your paint is on their bumper... park your car next to it to show how that bumper fits nicely into the divot in your car.

Then I'm sure you need no advice on how to verbally bitch-slap them into satisfying you... monetarily, that is.

Good luck, lets us know any good news.

From everything I've heard, most front end parts have to be replaced entirely, and of course they're mind-blowingly expensive...

Also, keep your eyes open for a rav with a ricer-assed body kit, that fool will have your stock front fascia up in the rafters of his garage and will sell it cheap...

i called uhaul today,,,they IMMEDIATELY gave me the inurance number,,,
she ran the license plate,,,but didn't see an IMMEDIATE match,,,filed something,,,and said an adjuster would call me and she gave me a CLAIM number,,,,

SEVENTEENS! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

By the time I end up doing something to it, the story will be up to 35 seconds, and I'll gain unnecessary extra credit for knocking 22 seconds off.

Hey Miss Hootch, I think the reason everyone "Hits and runs" with your little RAV is 'cuz they figure it's a throw away car, nobody would ever care about one of those things enough to get it fixed, right??? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Call the best in the twin cities. Raymond Autobody on Pierce Butler Rt in St. Paul. They have done it all (Lambo's to Street Rods) and are the most expensive and best I know of up there. Call and ask for Jerry if he is still there or one of the family boys. They did up my two Lincoln's and matched ten year old paint. Tell him former Gus Post Towing guy sent you and to take good care of your baby. These are real good people and better body folks.

In that case I have a good, no read, great lawyer for you up there. Much better than any old regular attorney (he writes great FU letters with strong letter to follow stuff). He is priced right and is one of the good ones. He loves this type of challenge.

Also call your insurance person if they are good they will help you to get the right info and ensure you get it straight even though you may not have the coverage. PM your number or I can send you mine if you need any help. I'll call you for free.

ok,,so i'm back with this problem again,,,

uhaul has agreed to pay for some of the damages,,,just not alot of MOOLAH,,,

any ideas where i can bring it LOCALLY to get fixed cheap,,,
my NON-LOCAL guy is being a dumbass,,,

the shitty thing seems to have a mind of its own,,,some days it starts others it doesn't,,,today it did so i moved it so it doesn't get towed,,,

i NEED to fix it up nice so i can sell it for a decent price,,,
that might mean paint,,and different tires aside from the bumper problem,,,
I'm beyond broke and hope i can get this done this month,,,

If they agreed to pay for SOME of the damage, then they must agree that it was their truck...so why aren't they paying for ALL of the damage?! When you're talking to them, just keep telling them "that's unacceptable" until you get the deal you want. Don't argue or anything...just keep saying "that's unacceptable"...works like a charm.

Jkustom

yeah Im with barnett- dont argue, just keep saying stuff like that so they keep doing the talking and you can back right into the corner, cuz they are gonna keep trying to make you happy so you dont start using words like "lawyer" and "lawsuit" and such...-J.

They are right-- keep telling them what you want, and that you expect the car to be as it was before the accident. Also, don't let them "pro-rate" parts. My wife got into an accident in her old neon and they tried to say they wouldn't cover the strut (bent in half in the accident ) because it had 60,000 miles and therefore was worn. I told them I wasn't paying for anything, as the part was in fine usable condition until their client rammed into it. Just make a stand. They sometimes try to push women around. It's wrong, but it happens. If it was their customer's fault 100%, then your car should be made perfect on their tab, 100%. And insist on only toyota parts. It's the law in many states, but they might try to sneak junk on-- ask to see invoices. And don't sign off untill you've inspected it carefully- maybe even bring an extra set of eyes to look for any weird gaps and such.
