Here's the first peek at my home-brewed Hack Ram Induction set-up for a small block Ford!

The idea was to turn late model junk into low buck funk, so I started with a free lower intake manifold from a 1986-88 Mustang GT...a local guy donated it to the cause as opposed to throwing it out!

First step is to remove all the late model junk...sensors, plugs, hoses, fittings, tubes, etc.

I'm not using the heater hose provisions, so all of the stock passeges and holes will be plugged. A tap will be run through the holes formerly occupied by the injectors, as well as into the EGR port in the center so that plugs can be made and installed. These stock manifolds have a PCV in the rear that will be retained for this project!

More pics to come soon! I will be fitting a plate to the plenum area on top of a phenolic spacer with the center cut open. Topping it off will probably be four Solex VW downdraft carbs, they're cheap and plentiful from Vee Dub sources! After that, linkage, fuel lines and air cleaners!

Note the thermostat housing...I lucked out and got it with the free intake. It points straight up when installed...perfect for mating up with hoses for an early radiator!

Stay tuned as this funky project unfolds!
