I saw that last night and was wondering what it's going to end up going for. Someone will be happy with it though.

is the owner of that car here on the HAMB???
My thought is (and I could be VERY wrong here) but some young guy who works for a reputable (??) national magazine wants to build a rod, so he contacts several shops/vendors. In exchange for a little print and free advertising, the young guy gets free parts and/or labor. Rod is "done", sells rod and makes an assload of cash for the next project/installment in the magazine (complete with even more freebies).
Seriously, all new parts. Hell, its practically a new car, so im sure its well(maybe not WELL) worth the asking/recerve price... but it seems odd.
AGAIN, i DONT KNOW if this is the case... maybe this guy really paid for all expenses to build his car, and is handing out "free" advertising in the mag during the buildup.. gawd, Im sounding like an asshole here, sorry.
maybe im completely delusional... its probably nothing like i THINK it is, and I hope Im not deeply offending everyone/anyone...
again, just my (piddly) 2 cents...

I know the manufacturer of the "kit" for this car. It is a company named "Real Hotrods" out of St Johns Michigan. Kieth the owner lives up near me. He also owns a company called dearborn wich makes 50's replacement Ford fenders and other body panels.
It is a nice setup although it is glass. Kieth is a great guy and has been a hotrodder since the late 40's. He currently drives a 54 Chevy George Barris custom.
The articles were an attempt to drum up interest in his product since the company is a new start up. The kit comes both turn key and with body and chassie only. Not a bad way to go. Although I personally like to hunt and build origianal parts as part of the challenge. We have discussed this a few times and he agrees as he still builds them that way for himself. The little roadster is a kit for those who want to build a rod which is all thought out. Which is fine but not for me.
Neat little car and I like it.
One maybe on the selling is learning what life with a roadster is all about.
Along with fun stuff of driving it, they're not cars you can just jump in and go.
At least not during weather extremes of hot or cold.
A little thinking as far as the elements go and a little preparation as well.
The cold air flowing over, around and through the car in winter can be tough and the hot summer sun beating down can be tough as well.
Lotta folks build em, drive em for a bit and go on to something else.
Seen that happen more than a few times.
Sometimes I think roadster guys are the bikers of the four wheel world.
In the end though, it doesn't matter what we think, it's his decision to sell and none of our business....

That car belongs to Scribe, yes. I saw the listing a few days ago and wondered why he was selling so soon, but that's his business. I like that car, and I've been diggin' the progress articles each month in R&C.
He bought the kit, worked like a maniac to get it done...often running on just a few winks of sleep, and still managed to compose a series of very comprehensive magazine articles detailing the steps involved. He's logged some miles on the thing now, and may just be wanting a change of pace, or cash to put into his T-bird or something.
Whoever buys it will get a pretty sweet little mod that's known the world over!
I think Dan did a Hell of a job, and this project made Rod & Custom that much more enjoyable to read over the past several months! It was cool to see it start from a loosely assembled kit to a fully finished magazine car!
Best of luck to ya, Scribe!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I used to flip a coin to decide whether to drive my 29 A closed cab P/U or ride the cycle on nice sunny days! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
So I built a scary High powered lightweight roadster!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Then I married a beautiful Xray Tech and she refused to ride on the murdersickle or "Donor-cycle" as she would call it..., but she had no objections riding in my nasty roadster!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Don't need a Murder-sickle when you've got a ROADSTER!!!!!
