May I also suggest Shady Grove. www.theshadygrove.com (http://www.theshadygrove.com) One of my favorites in town for chicken fried steak.
Good food, close to the club, and owned by Kontinental Bro. Mike Young.

Sorry for the ommission Buzz - all of Mike Young's restaurants (Chuy's, Hula Hut, Shady Grove) are great.

You forgot Tex-Mex: Trudy's, 30th just off Guadalupe;
and County Line is pretty fair bbq, on FM2222 east of loop 360.

Crazyeddie beat me to it. When I used to go to Austin a lot no trip was complete without diner at either the County Line on Bees Cave Road or out on 2222. The nice thing about the one on the 2222 was baeting on the rental car on the way out and back - great road!

Jorge's still on 6th Street for margaretas? How about Jaun Goldstein's for an Irish taco? (jalapeno on a potato skin).

Boy I miss that place!
