Thought you might like to see some of the club members cars that showed up at the annual club steak fry last sunday.

This is our clubs 40 Ford race car that we have owned and raced since 1960!

I was trying to remember the name of OF&OF's club the other day. Now I remember.. "STAGS". Thanks.

Got some mighty nice cars too. That Deuce roadster is a classic, but you've just gotta love Don's coupe.

So is there anyone with a shitty car in that club?? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Damn! You guys have some awesome cars in your club! That Hi Boy sedan used to be one of the coolest rides around, and it still kicks ass! I love it! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mick,

Whenever you post something, it's gonna be good!!! All of 'em look good, but Ralph Wiggin's truck goes beyond nice...it has charm.

The 40 Ford reminds me of something I forgot about...when I was growing up (early-mid 70's), a guy nearby had a '40 gasser-style he raced...it was gloss olive green with darker green ovals painted on it...'the Frog'...was pretty darn cool, as I remember!

Thanks for sharing,
Steve

Thanks for the pic's Mick...you guys have one hell of a club! Definitely wouldn't want to see any burning tennis ball under any of those rides! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All exceptional cars, Mick. The old Barracat [sp] sedan musta taken a pile of bodywork to make it look that good in gloss black. I remember how beat the body usta be.

Thanks for the compliments, the Stags have been in continuous operation since 1957 so we have some REAL old farts in there. I've ben in since 1958 and Ralph Wiggins is an original member!

Dr J yes thats my old 32 pickup that has found a good home with Scott. he treats it better than I ever did.

Brent Bodily originally bought the E&B car from Pete Eastwood and did a LOT of work to it to make it nice.
Brent hit the wall with the car at Bonneville Dragstrip doing quite a bit of damage to it.
Dale bought it and again did a lot of work to get it looking as good as it does.

Bleh, flaming tennis balls have been banned from club activities, don't know why!

Denise, actually I am walking, I sold the rpu at Bonneville to Bruce Geisler, who is one of the honorees at this years California Hot Rod Reunion!

Wasamatter with you. Thought that those spacers were too expensive so you sold the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wouldn't it have been easier to fix the valve cover leak.

Mick- I was just digging through my stuff the other day and came accross a Hot Rod Mag from the 60's that has an article about the Stags. Also has a club pic taken around an A roadster with a pile of trophies in front. Are you in the pic? Evan

Evan, I'm the exceedingly good looking dude leaning on the trunk of the model A, which incidently later became a NHRA record holder in B/STR.
Don P.(old farts & old fords) is the cool(?) guy in the shades kneeling at the far right.

Jack Harris who is the current Goodguys record holder in top fuel dragster is on the left in the lower inset photo

Hey Ken, next time you make one of your many trips to the left coast plan on coming through Ogden, Utah. The Stags have a club meeting every Tuesday night at our clubhouse and you're welcome to stop by. (That goes for any other HAMB'r as well) Give me a shout and we can get together. I'm planning to drive the '34 to Bakersfield for the March Meet next year so plan ahead. By the way, if you have trouble finding Mickey in the photo he's really the little skinny guy with the "Fonzi" haircut.
Don.
