Painted the car Friday, scalloped it on Sunday, put the new/old seat in Monday, picked up the windshield from the glass shop at lunch today and put it in after work along with the new tie rod ends on the front wishbones. The car is ready for Austin, and this year I get to sleep the night before the trip. http://photo.starblvd.net/ABone/1-1-1.jpg

ABone,
Lookin' good, the scallops are really tasty.

Now as far as sleeping the night before, you don't really think that's gonna happen do ya. Even if everything is up to snuff I never get a decent nights sleep before a run.
At the very least ya gotta work on a hangover so you can feel good'n'crude on the trip. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Looks like the thrash paid off.

Abone - that is awesome. Can I ask what all did you do to your frame? That thing sits right man. the shifter rules - that has to be a guiness record

How does that puppy sound?

Damn, Rodney - that looks GOOD! I really liked the patina and lettering 'before', but it looks sweet 'after'. Can't wait to see it up close.

What a kick ass car, that shifter rules, I love it. Are you running baffles in those headers? How loud are they? Absolutely fantastic.

Looks really good, Rodney.

Are you going to switch the front tires back to WWWs, or change the rears to blackwalls, or just leave it?

Looking forward to checking it out this weekend.

The zoomies were built by Danny (aka HOTRODPRO) at Bruce's Rod Shop and are all stainless. I run motorcycle baffles in them, which quiets them down a little. On road trips, I wear ear plugs because it resonates in the car. If you don't, your ears ring for a week after you get back. My new WWW's for the front are supposed to be in tommorrow, so I'll get them put on after work.
See ya'll in Austin,

Tudor, I built the frame rails out of 2x4 tubing. The wheelbase is stretched from 103 to 110 inches. It is stepped 2.5 inches at the firewall and 4 inches behind the seat. The body is channeled down to the bottom edge of the rails. My floor is only about 2 inches higher than stock in the seating area. The car is still relatively comfortable to drive in.
