i'm sorry that this is off topic, but i'm working on a little diner in our rhode island room for the little lady(they said it was a florida room, but it's way to small for that)...a while back i saw a post about jukeboxes and some of you had diners...i'd like some more ideas and to see whatcha got...so lets see your diner or diner related stuff http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Here's mine so far. It's built in the corner of our basement. It seats 13 people. I just had the counter top put on (small boomerang pattern). I haven't had time to work on it lately but when it's done it will have a glass front door flanked on either side by glass blocks and a large store-front window with "Blue Moon Diner" painted on it.
Anyone know where I can get the alum./stainless trim that goes around the edge of the counter and tables? I think it's about an 1 1/2" wide.

Dig the pics.
My kitchen is a sty at the moment. I know this has nothing to do with Diners but I just rescued this 50's Belmont Barber Chair from a bar fire the other day. It has a little bit of a smokey smell to it, but it is original and in very good shape. Always wanted one of these. Amazing how heavy they are! I think I blew a nut hauling this thing up from my basement! Sorry again this has no relation to the topic.

heres ours..build into the end of the family room in the basement...bout the stools new and got the booths from an old resturant that had updated, recovered them in CocaCola red..everything else is homemade, which is what most of the early diners were anyway

If you go that website, you can either A. buy a real diner, or B. click on the SALES tab on the left, and it will take you to a page that sells that trim, and other diner needs

This thread's already O/T, so I guess I can drag it a little further off the trail...
The little Chinese food place we go for lunch sometimes is about the only real diner left in town. The food sucks, but it's cheap and the decor is awesome. Hadn't been there in awhile, so I go in for lunch awhile back and... there it was: gone. Every piece of authentic 50's nostalgia picked clean and replaced with cheap SHIT. Tony, the owner, was thrilled. he got all this new furniture for dirt cheap... and the guy hauled away all his old crap... free of charge. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
