Well the food wasn't that bad, but I was bent over to pay 15.99 for a burger and fries (NO Coke) last night!!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Man, that just aint ROCK & ROLL! Who the hell do they think they are???? This shit has to stop or our entire society will crumble when "the man" slowly eats away our blue collar working asses!!! The only way can defeat this MONSTER is to continue ordering this over priced crap and complaining about it on websites in the hope that the gripes will eventually get back to these money sucking vampires and they eventually start charging a realistic price like say $12.00!!!!
Stop the insanity people and cuff your jeans a little higher for me tomorrow to let me know you want to join my fight.

My day was fine, I just can't complain about "GREEDYGUYS" so I just wanted to complain about something I have absolutely no control over. Next I am taking on movie tickets, amusement parks and finally boxing tickets! Do you know some tickets for the Delahoya fight were going for 5000 a piece talk about GREEDY-I bet those guys complained about the 6 dollar burgers and 5 dollar beers just like the guys that spend 20- 250K on a rod then can't part with a hundred to have a good weekend and show it off. Try having a nice FREE event in your own driveway next weekend, should be almost as much fun and the best part it won't cost a DIME! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

oooooooooooo, that hurt.
jim, i'll take back "some" of anything i may have said about goodguys...my neighbors wife works at a local radio station, and gave me a couple of comp one day passed to the colorado event...freebies are always good, well get to the gates friday morning, and the ticket taker hands back my comp passes without stamping or anything, so i got effectively got another couple of free passes, but i never went back.

Jim I keep thinking to myself, I'f there was a HAMB family, you would be the American cousin to Carp's, and Draglinks would be your long lost (and not talked about) son...... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Cheers, and group hug,

I saw B.B. King on TV a few years ago and he had the same complaint. he said he ordered raisin toast and they brought it with a bill for $7. He said he told them to take it back to the kitchen and scrape a few raisins off as there was no way he was paying $7 for toast.

Why don't you just take a short walk to the little mom and pop joint across the street? They may not spoon feed you or put all of the parsley & fru fru picks on your plate, but the food is good and your water glass will always be full....just a thought.

You think the room service is expensive? The PORN is outrageous AND they charge you by the half hour!!!!
I sit and watch the other 28 minutes just on principle.

Jim...I feel your pain...don't get me started on high cost of essentials in life....I may even have to switch to a "non cool" label of bottled water....oh my God...generic water...the shame of it all.

Stayed at the Motel 6 East in Bakersfield for CHRR last year. Got to the room, set our stuff down, sat down on the bed and some of the locals in french cut bras and mini skirts wandered in the door with a 6 pack of Bud looking to party. Total elapsed time under 15 seconds from unlocking the door to babes with beer. Now THAT's room service!
It's probably only shocking because the Hamburger cost more than Jim is used to paying for the Motel room itself. (When it wasn't on someone elses expense account) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Have you seen the goddamn prices on those new Gulfstream V private jets?! Forty fuggin' million! It's gotten to the point where Joe Sixpack can't afford anything but some rattletrap Lear!
Here's a tip from somebody who travels a bit... PRICELINE. I use it constantly for hotels and it is simply unbeatable. I go to NYC all the time, and NEVER pay more than $120 a night for a 4-star room in midtown Manhattan, never. Priceline will almost always save you 50-60% over retail, 25% over anything else including Hotels.com, etc.

YEAH, I'm a GREEDY ASS GOLD CHAIN BILLET LOVING HUMP who gets the red carpet treatment where ever I go so I can come back and get bashed by bitter hippies who love to preach style and history as it relates to ONLY THEM. I would love to see some of these poor old dudes get a HUMOR TRANSPLANT but I'm afraid they are too far down the list and their are too many young skin heads and minority haters that are still young enough to be saved.
Thanks to all who actually GET THE JOKE, maybe you could explain it to those LESS FORTUNATE, and who lack the "humor gene." http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's only 3 hours to Raleigh, we'll go to Grill 57, and I'll get you a '57 Special: 1/3 lb. burger, fries, and a Diet Pepsi...it's a pretty happenin' meal, I'm telling you!

And now, back to "As the HAMB Turns"...
I'm gonna roll my cuffs up to my knees and make capri pants out of them. (The bottom of the cuff will be mid calf.) Why are you bitching about a $16 hamburglar? Doesn't GoofyGuys give you guys a per diem? Shit, put down $25 for a meal, they don't call them cheat sheets for nothing. Geez, what are my dues being used for anyway; blown on some mag fag who can't learn basic embezzlement? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Nope dude, love the drama. At the events I just have to smile while people piss on the parade, this is my chance to vent (with humor).
All this talk about wasting money- this is exactly the reason I don't drink or smoke. How about MORE complaints about the cost of suds and smokes!!!
Hmmm... How can you complain about things as FUN as alcohol and cancer sticks- it's not like they are harmful or anything. But now GREEDYGUYS- there is something to complain about! It won't give you cancer, a blow hole in the throat or kidney or heart disease- BUT have you seen what those guys charge for a T-Shirt- It's MURDER I tell ya- and it's SO ADDICTICTING (unlike booze and cigs) that once they get you started on car shows you just can't stop!

Count me in on the rebellion!
The "HAMB Headquarters" hotel in Joplin was nice enough - at least for the $59 HAMBdrags special pricing - but who in the world would be crazy enough to pay the "regular" $120 per night fee that was posted on the back of the room door?
I didn't use the room service, but made the terrible mistake of making two phone calls to nearby Springfield (about 40 miles away) - thinking I'd save "roaming fees" (another ripoff!) on our cell phone. Wrongo! The total bill for the two calls was $50!
That was incredible enough, but what about the $3.50 bottles of water placed in the rooms "for your convenience"? No freakin' way I would go for that. But, as my wife noted, they wouldn't have them there if people weren't buying.
What a crazy world we have built for ourselves!

Jim Im sure if we had met in person I would like the person you are......I apologize if me saying fuck goodguys offended you. I only said it because I feel like the "organization" is a little out of touch with family budgets these days and really dont care if "average" folks can afford to come to their events or not. I think the key word is "comparitive" as in the comparison between the hi priced hotel room service you mentioned and the motel 6 the lesser fortunate may have to stay in. I am just saying that many events are put on ALL OVER THIS COUNTRY- that are just as much fun and maybe a little more affordable than some other 's are. I suspect that this years weak economy has even affected that organization you work for as it has many families that like to take a little break from life and attend a car show. if they cant afford to go that is the bottom line-they will go where they can afford to go. so as a politician that was running for president one time was told-ITS THE ECONOMY STUPID! One can ignore the fact that something doesn't affect himself if he doesnt have to see how it affects someone ,out of his line of sight.sometimes one just has to remove his nose from someones ass to see that far....... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifso fight the good fight friend.

Damn Jim, I did not know that was your private ject parted outside Dulles airport last week. When they called for the flight to Albany and those 50 people got up to cram onto that 50 seater jet I did not realize they were all your groupies....
I paid $15 for a shitty cheese steak sandwich on my last trip, thought I would step up from the $12.95 burger (compared to the $4 one at the swap last weekend.. So is the plan to roll up the left, right or both pant legs. and is it as you enter the Hotel or as you walk out, got to make sure everyone is following your lead... Uhm, which rolled up pant leg means your selling dope?, may have to pick the opposite one...
