Here's a painting I did recently for a customer.

The painting looks a lot better in person. My camera is shit. I got to doing some research and my camera is 1.3 megapixels. Holy shit. Even the cheapo cameras nowdays are like at least 4 megapixels. I might as well be taking these pics with a pinhole camera.

Any of you guys want to suggest a decent camera for me. Preferably one in the $500 or below range....???

I'd appreciate it.

I'm looking to buy one SOON.

Anyhow, my pics.

Here's a pic of one of my T-shirts in its new home. I did this one several months ago....but I've not posted this pic.

I had to send this guy an email and tell him that HE'S supposed to wear the shirt......as it will never fit on that car. :D

Just joking.

I love this pic. Its really nice to see where my art goes. Its also nice to get feedback and have folks say they like it. Its really fulfilling to make art for appreciative people.

....like the Brooding Swede on here. He's an old friend of mine so he has a lot of my art. His bathroom looks awesome. Its like a TINGLER show every day of the year in there.

Brush, love the new one man!

Tingler, great gasser! The wife and I both have Sony cameras with 7.2 Mega Pixels each. I love them both, small enough to stick in your pocket but great photos. I believe the camara price is in the $250 - $300 range. With the higher pixels make sure you have a few memory sticks or one giant one as the more pixels the more room they take to store. This brings me to my only negative of the Sony's, the cards are a bit more expensive than other brands.

Here is one I am still working on, it's just the line art right now and will get some color soon.

Awesome show already!

I got nuthin this week. :(

Tingler-- check out http://dpreview.com/ for more than you ever want to know about digital cameras. They actually post up pics taken with the cameras they review. I've used a bunch of different ones, and the Nikons & Canons seem to be consistently good... they seem to put the least noise in the images. Olympus is right in there, too. Sony has made some awesome ones, and some that suck pretty bad. Same for Fuji & Kodak. We had a Minolta here at work... that one I hated.

I'm not too concerned with you putting up copies of my stuff, it's actually a
nice compliment. Permission in the form if a P.M. might be nice, too. The good thing about you "displaying" our stuff is that others will see it and that could turn into a nice business opportunity for us.(Should you be inclined to turn people our way.) That's the impression I've gotten from this forum; that everyone wants to work together and help them acheive their goals.

Question for all you artists...If we find some art you guys post really bitchin, do you care if we print it up and hang it?

Jigger

Nice work, Brush. Her's a drawing I've hesitated at putting up as it barely passes for 'traditional"(you all be the judge.) The subject of chopping the top of one of these barges was recently brought up on the forum,so,...
The origional has no chop to the roof, I was trying to get a factory feel there. The customizing is subtle(tail lights, filled air spoiler @ rear, cowl induction hood, front Air dam, You get the Idea.) I photoshopped a chopped version but figured the first way was the right way.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Here is one done based on a car from the Lonestar Roundup.
I used some old Rod & Custom magazines that I had as a background.
Don't fret, these were ones that I had from the fifties that were falling
apart and were not complete and had no covers on them. I have a pretty
nice collection of old original Hop Ups, Rod & Customs, Honk, Car Crafts etc.

I thought this was a pretty cool Model A sedan turned into a pickup. I had to put my own spin on it. Now I really want one! I'm planning on doing several different versions, but not 'till next Friday.
Spaulding I love messin with that kind of stuff too. I tried my own take on your original pic. I hope you don't mind.
I'm a sucker for purple, and slicks.
It's pretty sloppy in places but I kind of threw it together. I look forward to your other versions.

I'm no artist. I really love the work you guys are doing.

I need to break out the easel and paint later this year though, my skills have gotten soft. This is a quick sketch I did last year for a prelimenary tattoo design. I did some later versions with more detail and such but I kinda liked the simplicity. Plus it's the only one I've got scanned. heh. :o

Here is a couple of things I did this week.Mostly production work(a 32 Chevy roadster,a 36 Chevy cabriolet,an 80's Monte Carlo and a Cadillac lowrider)but these:
My son came out from Massachusetts for Woodward and the NASCAR race at MIS so I added some more stuff to his Ranger pickup.
The second piece is a work in progress:another handcarved cartoon car cast in resin by Greg DePauw of Metamora Illinois.Greg is a quadriplegic and runs the Art Rod Festival(Sept. 10th in Metamora)and has a kickass 37 Ford bustleback set up for hand controls and a wheelchair.

I'm new to all this, so let me know what you think. Here are some recent paintings. For the history on the first car (which is really cool) go to www.sinisterhotrods.com (http://www.sinisterhotrods.com)
All paintings are Oil on canvas.

A great art show. I love the diversity of styles. Different uses of mediums. All that sort of stuff. This whole show could easily be displayed in a gallery as a HAMB exhibition.
I have said it before, but I see the Friday art thing as a great art think tank that we all get to share each week. We all learn and get better at what we do because of it. Great work everyone and thanks for showing the world what you create. Geoff aka whodaky

Because of all the last Bonneville shots (nice by the way) I got this last one.
Did this for Brad Lindig at So Cal Texas. Was a present I believe to Jim Jard.
Sorry about the size.

What do the Admins and the members think about a "HAMB Art Week". The same way "Tech Week" runs. Their could be seperate catigories, Art, Photography, and Pinstriping. What are everyones thoughts?

Kerri...you have no fear of color! :D Nice lookin helmet.

Thanks, Dan!

What can I say? I just close my eyes and reach into the box of crayolas... and the 3 I pick are the 3 paints I use. :D j/k

I'm doing a lot more mixing of colors now... the only 'out of the can' on the helmet is the red.

That drawing is in the R&C that I got Saturday. Looks a lot like the 26 T sedan I am building. I sent Kevin Lee a couple of pictures a while ago. Coincidence?

Well may as well get 'er started.....
54Bomb dropped me a line telling me this was produced.....so I guess it's safe.

I wish I was going to the DRAGS....but...I am a slave to the board(drawing board that is!)

Burn rubber fellas......lets begin!
Post away!!
