Well, my alternator burned up the other day and instead of replacing it with the stock, $120 dollar part with an $80 core charge, I'm going to try to put an 81 Toyota Tercel alternator on it. It is a conversion that has been made by quite a few people, however, none seem to know how to reply to an email. Anyway....the new alternator has a terminal (marked "B") and a 3 prong plug. On the plug the two vertical prongs are marked "E" and "N", while the horizontal prong is marked "F". On the old Alteranor, it just has two wires, the big red one from the battery and the small one that goes to the voltage regulator. My question is...how do I hook this sucker up? I'm guessing that the red, 10 guage wire from the battery goes to the seperate, large terminal marked "B", similar to the old set up. Where do the others go? How do I tell which of them to use? Any help would be greatly apprciated. I'll try to get a picture of it up in a bit...
Thanks
jake

I made a mistake by purchasing the externally regulated alternator. If you get the internally regulated one, all you do is hook up the big red wire from the batter to the "B" terminal (imagine that), then bypass the old voltage regulator and hook that wire (from ignition switch) too the "IGN" terminal....pretty straight forward...this is a direct bolt on for the studebaker motors with the avanti type brackets...

I used a GM one wire and made my own bracket.
Then again I don't have that Supercharger in my way either.
