Sorry, I just can't find a good home improvement forum and there is just too many experts here to ignore their other talents.
The rear building behind my home is made similar to a barn.
It is actually a community wash house that was used by the community to wash their clothes. I would like to remove the 100 yrs of paint and leave it unfinished but am looking to ways of removing it quickly without damage to the wood. The wood is made of oak and is as hard as a rock but I hesitate using a sandblaster or pressurewasher to remove it. Does anyone have any experience in removing paint on this type of surface? I know it can be removed with a heatgun, but I don't want to spend the rest of the summer taking it off.
heres a pic of the building.

Your options are the following
Heat / torch - be careful of the fumes given off
Chemical Paint Stripper - gets expensive and you have on big toxic waste dump to clean up
Sand blast - as long as you keep moving and do sweeping motions it should take off the paint and not harm the oak if it is hard as you say it is
Scraper - wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Then you have to seal it to avoid moisture problems

One more thing - dont eat the chips

Our neighbors had their house blasted with something (not sure if it was sand) about 10 years ago. They treated it with something so it still looks like bare wood, and whatever they blasted it with definitely didn't damage the wood.

Oh yeah, their house (and ours) are like 90+ years old, so apparently the age of the wood shouldn't matter.
