Turn signal problem.

I have a problem with my turn signals flashing very slow on the Galaxie. What could cause that? I have replaced the flasher, is there some sort of ground going on here? Has anyone else had this problem? I had some lady follow me into a parking lot bitching about how unsafe my car is and that I will get rearended. I asked her if she saw my brake lights and she said that she did. I thanked her and then silently wished that the elevator she would ride would plummet taking her to her busybody death.

Did ya replace the flasher with the right part,,,,I had that problem in the past and the guy at the parts house sold me a universal flasher and it was REAL SLOW!

A trip to the local Ford dealer parts department fixed my problem,,, HRP

have you changed the bulbs recently?????
we need 21 watts front and rear to make them flash correctly.

i run into this sort of problem alot in my business, check to see what your flasher is rated for, some are rated for 12 to 16 lights!!! and when put into a system with only 4 lights, they flash very slowly.

also check to make sure all your grounds to the sockets are good, and that the bulbs are flashing brightly,, bad grounds, are second only to burnt bulbs in my experience

The wiring in this car has not been hacked and appears to be in excellent shape. I will however try and find a flasher that is not super-rated and will clean all of the contacts. Thanks brutus, by the way, where is your shop?

no shop,, i run a mobile service, i owned and have worked a many shops but the mobile service fits in well with the area, as traffic is so bad here customers like me coming to them..

been doing repairs as a mobile service for about 15 years now in the tacoma/seattle/everett area.

Just do as we do in Ohio dont use the signal. When they lay on the horn and flick ya off start shooting.
