View Full Version : I love the smell of filler in the evening!
It has begun...............got the frame back from the sandblaster today (just to annoy Grimlok) and was ready to start the bodywork. Remember all those holes I carved into my frame? Layed down the first skimcoat of Rage filler!!!! WHOOOHOOO! By this time tomorrow night, all the rough-in should be done. I hope to have all the chassis parts blasted and ready to spray primer/sealer on by next weekend.

I use Rage filler also. I bought a new can last week and when I opened it yesterday I found out that it is different. This stuff turns a green color when cured. It seems to work well but it is different that the other stuff.
Yeah? What color is your old stuff? I thought it looked odd at first, just kinda shrugged it off. It spread the same from what I remember. This is my first foray back into doing my own stuff since the last century http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not completely ray, just around the edges!
I did learn something on my frame and Randys frame which was just painted. It seems that any cutting fluid you used in the production of the frame waits until you start bodywork to seep out of the little nooks and crannies!!! We had to wash out both frames with laquer thinner before paint. What a pain in the ass.

The "Rage" product that I have used the last few years has been a gray or ar gray blue color.
Went to Mokan today to run the Dart but got there late. Talked to Carl about a pit for the pig at the HAMB drags and he said he would try to help arrange it, if we wanted to try it again.

Post some pics!
Very cool WZ junk! Were we talking south of the staging area last year? I forget.
Deuce, pics this week, I should be roughed in in a couple days.
As for RAGE, I am just getting back into bodywork save for a couple cycle tanks and bicycke frames in the last few years. I found the stuff to feather nicely. It works well when you spread it, and trust me, all those holes were a good test! I also have theier glaze for small nics and scratches, cant wait to try it.
Is it going to be done by Aug 7th ??
Done? Driving. The plan is to get the chassis in final paint, the body in primer. I dont want to rush the few things I have left on the body, sheetmetal wise. If the body sees blue paint, fine, if not, fine. I will be driving this summer either way.
