Progress on the comet

The comets been off the road for a month or so. I pulled the motor, gas tank, and tranny out of it to freshen everything up. Im putting a complete gasket set in the motor, put a floor shifter in it. And bought a new gas tank and sending unit for it. Im also doing the body work on it and going to re paint it. Nate

this shifter isnt staying in there long, im going to make my own that will go to the top of the dash about.

i love sanding!! LOL I got some good heavy coats on the entire hood last night and all guide coated. Nate

damn nate, you're gettin' serious now man! keep up the good work, it's gonna look sweeeeet. did you make it to the butcher's meeting a few weeks ago? jim and i felt it was just a little too far to travel, maybe we can get something going down here. so what's the plan for the comet, color scheme etc.? i finished up the new crate motor and 5-speed installation on mine. jim was over monday night and we got it tuned up and it's running great, the 5-speed is awesome, now if we could just get rid of some of the snow..... good luck on the comet man. mike

Hey mike, no i didnt make it to the meeting, it was also a long ways of travel for me.
The comet is going to be gloss black with my signature flames front to back.
The flames will be a orange faded in red with lite black foggin.
My flames look alot like Kelsey Martins and i cant wait to get it done.
Im tired of primer and stuff. The pride you get out of painting your car is something else!

I like my motor, its exactly what i want, im not looking to go fast and i just want to cruise and not be a turtle on the highway, and thats exactly what this motor gives me! Thanks Nate
