My first turn at driving was on a Fordson tractor on the farm in Kansas. My first turn behind the wheel of a car was a 51 Mercury. My last ride will hopefully be behind a flathead powered machine. If it aint broke don't fix it. I work on helicopters for a living and they only change something when something else better comes along which is about every 30 years. My old 29 model A sport coupe is craving somethin besides a 40 horse banger and a 255 merc will be just the ticket. If I have any better ideas than Henry had I'll let you all know.

I'm from a town just west of Garden City called Lakin. I just went through Scott City about a month ago. I was up visiting relatives and went up to Colby so the kids could visit friends up there then came back through Scott City. I used to go to Lake Scott for Boy Scout camps.
I've been in San Antonio for just over 21 years now but still get up that way now and then. I also go through Amarillo now and then. I have a few friends up there.

I know exactly where Lakin is, we used to kick your ass in High School Football!!
They are having a rod run in Scott City next weekend, I'm taking my Coupe up, are ya interested? I'll prolly leave Friday evening after work.
I could tell you some stories about Lake Scott State Park!!!
Mom still lives there, I get up there about 2-3 times a year.
If you get up around Amarillo, let me know, we'll hafta drink a beer or 6.
there are a few other hambers from around here too, maybe we could coerce them into a few.
