I have a customer in Arizona with a T5. We need to know what ratios are it it.

The #s on the drivers side of the case are

Basic-1
13-51-065-903
Borg Warner.

Can any of you guys tell me what the gear ratios are in this? It was originally in a CHP Camaro if that helps. Thanks, Trent

The numbers you need are on the plastic coated sticker on the top cover. It should be 1352-xxx. I have a pretty comprehensive list of these ratios put together, but I need that 1352 number. I could get close, with the year and engine designation, i.e. LB9, LG4, etc.

I tried that site. My customer is down by the border. Can you TEAR that plastic tag off to read it? He is trying to do this on a completed car without a tranny hatch.

not sure about the camare tranny, but there should also be a metal tag on one of the tailshaft housing bolts. that should also have the number on it. same first 4 digits as the casting number you gave.

if its a chp tranny its probably junk, and he'd be better off swapping it for one of the S-10 t-5's i got here! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif tell him lower first gear!

Try this:
http://garage-scene.home.att.net/t5_install_identifying.htm

Here's some info:
84 Camaro V6
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
2.95 1.94 1.34 1.00 .73

Here's the best ballpark I can get you at this point:

1st - 3.35 or 2.95
2nd - 1.94
3rd - 1.34 or 1.29
4th - 1.00
5th - .63 or .73
Rev - 2.76

The biggest difference is going to be in first and fifth. I don't think the tag comes off, btw. Maybe he can get a look with a mirror? Maybe this will be close enough. Hope so.
