thinkin'of flamin my daily driver pickup, its red and don't really want to do the white/yellow/orange treatment. been thinking a deep purple {not grape] with white pinstripping. any examples out there? Any other color combos that should be considered?

There is a 39 Ford Convert that has been in the mags several times since the 80s that is red with Pewter flames ans little sliver highlights. Always dug that car.

Not exactly a daily driver, but here's a red/purple with silver pinstriping combo that works for me. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

you could go with a ghost flame. A white pearl would contrast agains the red, giving the flame the ghosted look.

Can't/ wont do ghost flames, personal choice in flames is they must scream out at the world. not some stuck in the closet don't notice me "faggot flames". just my opinion. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

AMEN! I really don't like the ghost flames either (just not my personality to be so mild!)
Orange with lime pinstriping, lime with orange striping or even a light green pinstripe, beige flames with a fade to screaming yellow or orange tips...man there's a ton of good choices...

I get confused when I see flames that are non-flame colors so it gets difficult to visualize flames that work and stand out on a red vehicle.
My first thought is to do scallops instead which can be any color you want, including black, which would look tits on a red truck with white striping.

Other than that idea, the colors of flames that look llike posible flame colors to me and would work on the red would be copper flame colors, white-to-yellow-to-chartreuse/green.

Thanks, after viewing the color selections the EL Camino won me over. My original choice had been a silver/pewter and then started thinking purple, now know which way I'm headed. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
