a guy is selling a four pot Evans intake for a 59AB with four 97's and complete linkage. Is it worth 850? or is that high?

anyone know. I want it but shit, it seems expensive.
any help would be cool.

Whats the condition of the carbs? They can be worth 150-200 by themselfs. Now add the intake and the linkage. I don't think it's out of line but not he deal of the day either.

I look at stuff like that, like this.....if it's for you and you want to actually use it just get it while it is available. If you are gonna try and resell it to make some money you may sit on it for a while, a long while.

The real deal vintage stuff is getting harder to find all the time.

well its only worth as much as you are willin to pay for it, however it seems legit. You have SBC tri powers going for well over 800 and 900 and this is a 4 pot

Brace yourself and take a look a Ebay. According to the current trend your 4 pot manifold and carbs are right in the running with some of the prices people are paying for this stuff. I watched a 2X4 early Hemi intake with carbs (needed rebuilding) go for $2100 about 2 weeks ago. Too rich for my blood but apparently not for some.

well its obviously not for resale.... I guess its just the price right now. I wasnt expectiong it to be so high but after talking to some of my friends they say that it is a pretty fair price.
the intake, carbs and linkage is all in good shape.
4 carbs do look cool on top of a flathead. The Evans fours are rare as hell so I guess I will do it.

If'n your going to run all 4 , the only way is with 4 81's. been there and done that years ago before the 81's were $200 ea. i got mine for $10 each and they were rebuilt, but that was more years ago than i want to remember. unless your going to run big cubic inches on a flathead, the 97's will not work, but they are good trading material.. the price is in line unfortunatly.

Honestly, I dont think I could get all four to ever run right and would probably block off the outer two. I have two rebuilt 97's and would run them in the place of the ones that come with the intake.
I guess it's just one of those things where you pay it and dont think about it. Hell, I did that with the car it's going in!
