Hi all,

hope someone can help.

Friend of mine is looking to buy a 32, but needs to know what one measures (approximate measurements are fine) Length, width & height.

He has some room in a crate being shipped to the UK & wants to see if one will fit.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

wheel bast is 106" ( I know that isnt the overall length, I think I measured mine roughly once and it was 12-13' long height depends on body style, wheels, tyres etc, but my roadster to the top of the windscreen posts would be about 5' so it you said 6' that would give you room for a sedan/coupe. rear diff is 59" wide with 4" of wheel tyre either side so say about 70" total width.

hope this might help.

Or get the biggest sucker you can then you have more room for more stuff http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

a friend of mine picked up a brookville `32 roadster body at the factory and used my utility trailer to get it....the inside of the box is 5 foot wide and 8 feet long...and the body barely fit inside it with about 2 inches on the end and maybe an an inch or two on each side....this should give you an idea of the size

Many thanks for that also.

Messages have been past on to the UK.

The frame measurement is on the frame chart on the wescott's fiberglass page--or Westcott?? This is useful here because on a fenderless car with bumpers removed, the frome length is going to be the length of the car.

From my 32 highboy w/top.
Windshield is the standard 2" chop.
The top is a bit of a wedge as you can see in the attached pic.

Width - front - 66 1/2" (195/70R-14 tires on 5 1/2" slot mags.)

Width - rear - 71 3/4" (285/70R-15 tires on 10" slot mags. with a 55" wide rear axle. Measured outer brake drum to outer brake drum.)

Length - 141 3/4" (shot with a plumb bob). My car has the rear frame horns bobbed off and the rear of the body proper is where the measurement came from. Add 7" for length if your car has the rear frame horns intact. The measurement was taken at the front of the frame horns which are stock in length. You may want to subtract 1/8" from the overall length because my front frame horns have a 1/8" thick cap welded on as a finishing piece and are not open as on a standard 32 frame.

Top height at the highest point - 62"

Windshield at the highest point, the post top - 54 1/2".

Body height measured at the windshield eyebrow high point(eyebrow being the raised piece on the cowl under the windshield) - 44 1/2".
Perhaps a useful measurement if you are running topless without a windshield.
