It all has to do with your posts. Why do you think there are so many worthless posts..........it's all about numbers. Actually this alliance membership is a great way to put everyone on the same page. So, join the alliance and you won't be a Newbie anymore..besides, you will like the benefits it will offer you. ( Damn, that sounded like an ad)

Oh,No! First you'd be an FNG Alliance Member and then we'd have to figure out how that compared to Senior Members or warrant officers or chief petty officers,or something. While I appreciate my ranking, I think you can pretty much tell when someone knows his shit and his place-or not. So I'd be in favor of no rankings at all,just usernames. Then maybe the bogus postings would decrease just a bit. :)
