Hi, I'm Tom from Salt Lake City, Utah. I've been lurking here for quite some time. Long enough to know that If I have a question, someone else has already asked it and the answer is as close as the search function.

I've been working on a '46 Chevy Stylemaster 2-door sedan for a year and just registered it and started driving it last month. I've gleaned tons of info for this build from the HAMB over the last year.

Last night I picked up a new project. A 1965 Ford Step-side pick-up. This is going to be a project for my 16 year old son and I. It has had a lot of custom work done to it in the past. For the last few years its been sitting outside and it shows. I will looking for some input on how to make this "custom" into a traditional "kustom".

I have that affliction (that we all share) of seeing the "potential" in old cars.

I'll try to post up some pics later.

See you on the salt flats.

Tom

Welcome.

Those look like VW squarback tails lights. Interesting.

Yeah, I think they are off a VW Type III also. This picture shows how they are blended into the fender a little better. The back fenders and the front bumper are fiberglass. But the work is done pretty well. No cracks etc. The taillights look a heck of alot better than the stock pods.

I'm still deciding what direction to take with this one. My son won't see it until this weekend, then I'll get his input. The truck will be his when its ready to drive.

This first thing on the list is to clean all those marker lights off the roof!
Get rid of that stupid airbrushed truck in the bed.
Lower it.
Then, I'm open to suggestions.

I'm sure my son is either going to say flat black or gasser (or both). I'd want to be able to throw some ideas at him.

I really like Eryk's '60 chevy on losboulevardos site. That's really what I was thinking when I bought it.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Tom
