since I already own it. its suppose to be a 57 plymouth fury. The floor in the car is actually really solid. but the lower quarters are rusty and they have been cut off not by me tho. I don't have the motor or trans tho.

for some reason, i alway's liked 57 and 58 plymouths..probably because of the movie..
It all comes down to how much you like it, and your skills in the end though..

If you could get it to build itself, like Christine.....
When you sit in it,does the radio play oldies?
Do you feel funny when you're around it?
Are your friends starting to worry about you?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you should do the car......
Just don't let the car do you.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I love that body style...always have and always will...just get it and mess around with it maybe you can fix it maybe you can't...don't pass it up...

Very cool, I say build it, that thing is cherry for around here. I do know where there is one pretty close to me for somethin like $250 with a spun bearing and a dent in the rear 1/4. Owner says its not rusty, but others have said it is. Guess I should check it out.

Yeah, but that's definitely a parts car. I mean, you'd have to replace more stuff than you'd have left on it. So what you should do is get another one, with bad floors, bad glass, and good everything else, and work on THAT!
Check out the '57 Plymouth pics

wow Don, the car looks much better with the front set on it....hmmm maybe I should have thought about it more before letting it go.....oh well......YOU better fuck'n build that car or my kid is gonna be pissed at me http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Oh and don't forget there was less than 8000 of those 57 fury's built would be a very bad shame to let it turn into fertilizer in your yard and we have plenty of soup and pop cans to go around......yeah buddy you NEED to build this car, if for no other reason than to piss off Arla http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Just think about how pissed they got seeing the top come of my car, then give it a 3 or 4 inch choppy that ought ta really put her panties in a bunch http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Oh and if you need some pics to get your blood flowing check out www.plymouthcentral.com (http://www.plymouthcentral.com) I did some research on those cars when Nick offered me the 53 for the 58 and belive it or not I wouldn't have traded with out that 57 going in the deal (yeah I know I'm stupid).

Abomber30 had one posted a while back that he found, running and drivin in good shape for around 800 bucks. That would be a better place to start, I think.
Now that said, find yourself a pre-war pickup cab (Dodge Preferrably) and build a truck. Hack the ass end off that car, narrow it a bit and make a bed out of it. Those fins are cool, especially if you have all the trim for it. Of course, I am a bit biased.

I wouldn't do it on a bet.
What I would do if I were you is trade it for a '23 Dodge Bros. coupe in really rough but buildable condition and build the ultimate street rod.
So get it on a trailer and get up here to KC. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Friend in my opinion those are one of the neatest Plymouths ever built. They customize easily, and even in stock form have tremendous lines.
It sounds like you have a lot to work with already, and you got something going for you that other builders don't "Its Yours" Full MOPAR drive train, snake belly low, and shiney, shiney, paint (not orange please).

Back in the olden days, when I was in high school, a buddy of mine had one. It was pale yellow and white from the factory with a 318, automatic. He changed it to a stick tranny and lowered it....painted it a dark green metallic and left the original cone-type hubcaps on it with skinny whites. The girls loved it!

Action Girl, that is AWESOME!
Get this one running and drive it as is. Go find a nicer one, fix it and paint it red too. Then alternate which one you drive. Don't forget the oldies motion detector trick!
Fuck, now I need to watch Christine again.
