VooDoo Child is a superstar! On tonights episode of Rides, they were showing the Ridler contenders at the Autorama in Detroit, and low and behold... there is the black 40 Ford owned by our very own Roadstar. You are now a TV superstar, or atleast your car is. Who cares about those Ridler contenders anyway. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Commercial break...

I saw that too, and thought damn, that's a cool 40. I didn't make the connection until you posted. I agree, let's see it!

I thought i saw the car on there, looked mighty good!....The first time i saw the pics of the cars i thought the moal raodster deserved the win, now i feel that way more than ever...that car had so many hand made pieces it was incredible....and all that dork on tv cared about whether the rear suspension vents were really that functional, who fricken cares, they look hot and took time and most importantly are unique. The willys was nice but it was just a red willys with billet wheels....nice history and a hefty price tag, (even 65 grand for the damn display!) but I don't see it beating that sexy '32 anyday of the week.....sorry im taking away the glory of the HAMB ride, just a little angry hehe.....grats on the ride getting on tv!

We just got done watching it, and taped it of course. WOW! They showed "VooDoo Child" about half dozen times. Roadstar is in his glory, so is Race. He called from St Louis after the car was spoted the first time. Both father and son couldn't be happier or prouder.

Congrats sweetie!

Gave an interesting look at the judging process.

I think the one guy was right when he said "It's just another Red Willys". http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Don't miss next year.

Congrats RoadStar!!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gifI think you're car was way cooler than any of those riddler cars, cuz its a REAL CAR, not just a life size, overpriced, model car!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I too watched it and thought the insight into the judging was interesting. It looked to me like paint and polish were still areas that several top notch cars got nicked for. I really dug Moals car overall but agreed witht he judges that the motor had too much stuff going on. I consider it a good hour of my life watching this show. Cool for Roadstar to get a little press.

On another press related note, is it just me or is the dork from Scotts just grasping for any press he can get? Hell, the car he was hyping and sending press releases out 4+? years ago still is nothing more than a shell with a disply chassis under it. TLC should give his wasted airtime to Roadstar, show a real builder not some snake oil salesman.

Pretty cool show... I didn't know much about the Ridler award other then there is a guy in town that owns a '32 Ford with a twin turbo that won about 10 years back. Beautifully build car, but it's very dated with all the 80's stuff in it and the goddamn square headlights.

Real good look at the ISCA judging process - I know from personal experience. That's the kind of stuff that goes on every weekend during the winter. Some real long term 3-43 years) experienced judges in that group including the guy that I got into judging thru in 1974.

Accoording to my tv guide it will be on again 3PM EST Sunday.

I saw Rudy's car a couple of times, pretty cool. The car is beautiful and well balanced. So many of the cars there are so over done. As they say, sometimes less is more.

I was real impressed by the judging process. They didn't all just write down their favorite car and the most votes wins. It was well discussed and everyone got to make their point (good or bad) about each car. I'm certainly not in a position to say who should have won but I think it's pretty cool that it wasn't one of the "featured" builders. Kind of a surprise ending for the viewer.

I like how he called out Foose and wants to take him on, and how he backed out this year to take Foose next year, blah blah blah. Give me a break. That car wasn't even half as far along as Foose's car. IMO, he doesn't stand a chance against Foose.

I had no idea the judgeing was THAT picky, and only confirms that I will NEVER want a show car. Seeing the end of the show with the awards made me ok with the Willys winning, even though personally, I still think the Moal car should have won. The two drag racing pics of the willy's and last years winner were awesome.

I really loved the part where the judges say "it's just another speedstar (or whatever it was) body and knocked it out of the competition.

My Buddy's Model A Roadster pickup was shown quite a few times since he was parked next to the Moal car. I thought that was pretty cool.

Watching those shows is kind of like looking at a Playboy magazine. It's really enjoyable to look at ,nice to show off, but it probably isn't as much fun to play with as what I have at home.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I freaking missed it, got home late and only caught the last 5 minutes of judging, and some blurb from Scotts about going against Foose for the Ridler next year, he better get somebody with some style/taste to design it for him. I'll have to catch it in a rerun.

Plowboy your buddies pickup was one of my favs from the show, had a lot of nice touches, and a cool powertrain.
