Here's the results of that Hagerty Top 10 movie cars thing.. idiots!
Top H'wood car: Gen. Lee
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson's action comedy "Starsky & Hutch" has renewed interest in 1974 Ford Torinos, but Hollywood's top car star is still the orange 1969 Dodge Charger the General Lee from "The Dukes of Hazzard."
"We thought the top choice would be the Batmobile, or maybe Tom Selleck's Ferrari from 'Magnum P.I.' We were surprised," said McKeel Hagerty, president of Hagerty Insurance, the Traverse City, Michigan-based firm that specializes in collector car insurance.
Hagerty Insurance surveyed car enthusiasts nationwide to determine the Top 10 television and motion picture car stars.
"Each of these vehicles not only played an integral part in a movie or TV show story line, but each possessed a unique character, an on-screen personality all of its own," Hagerty said Wednesday.
The Top 10 Car Stars list: "The Dukes of Hazzard," 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee; "Bullitt," green 1968 Ford Mustang driven by Steve McQueen; "Gone in Sixty Seconds," 1967 Shelby GT500; "Back to the Future," 1983 DeLorean; "Batman" TV series, Batmobile; "Goldfinger," Aston Martin DB5; "Smokey and the Bandit," 1977 Pontiac Firebird T/A; "Herbie, the Love Bug," 1963 Volkswagen Beetle; "Starsky and Hutch" TV series and "Starsky & Hutch" movie, 1974 Ford Torino; and "The Green Hornet" TV series, Chrysler Imperial Black Beauty.

ech, no taste... might have well added KITT from knight rider!
Hollywood? I never really thought of TV as Hollywood..
and for the list, it is pretty lame but,
when I think of the General Lee I can't help thinking of Daisy Duke- she's fun, and cute!
When I think of the Batmobile I think of Cat Woman, she's cute and dangerous!
None of the other cars have any sexual connection for me..
Especially the Gone In Sixty Seconds blond, yuk! what's that all about?!?
Hey, at least they didn't include My Mother the Car!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Give me a break. It's just a Ferrari 308. I watched Magnum religiously as a kid, but it's nothing special.
The green hornet car? Goldfinger car? Whatever. Maybe the Munster Coach is not a popular in the mainstream, but the AG coupe should have at least made the top ten. I'm not surprised about the General Lee though.

Wasn't that "icky" blonde that you're referring to Angelina Jolie? For a girl, I think shes hot.

Honestly, how could you skip Dragula or The Koach. I mean, besides only a few in the list these really stood out. Let's face it most of those cars could be drowned out in crowd easily without a placard.

Dragula! Hands down my favorite. I dream of building one for myself someday.
And the blond on "Gone in 60 seconds"... I would love to meet a girl that looks like that, and knows how to work on cars. Maybe not for everybody, but she sure is my taste.
Enough people vote for the only one they remember in recent history or at all, that it will usually win.
I was in a small car show about a decade ago that someone talked me into going to that was in conjunction with that city's "Annual Street Fair"
They had trophies for cars but they were all voted on by "People's choice" There were some customs and a couple of street rods and some old stockers, I was parked next to a really cool '56 Packard, and guess which car took top prize?
The One-Day Paint red '57 T-Bird parked right next to the ballot box of course!
Even though there was a really nice blue original paint original everything and near perfect '57 bird five cars down the row.
The customs and rods got nothing, because the "people" didn't recognize what they were.
Popular vote on an object of "art" doesn't mean the best always wins, in fact it probably excudes the best.

Come on 60's style....Angelina Jolie's a babe! Shit...the Grafitti coupe shoulda won....another fine example of the idiodic tendencies of the mass populace, or should I say ass populace....BTW, anybody see the new Starsky and Hutch movie? I heard that except for the car, it blows goats...Ben Stiller's a fag...

The sad truth is that there are alot more Muscle Car guys than there are guys with taste! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
When people that aren't even car guys talk about cars, it is usually muscle car talk because they are called muscle cars and have BIG cubes, they are assumed to be the fastest and best thing going.
Yeah, I'm with Paul, I think she's a babe now, but Angelina looked weird as hell in "...60 Seconds." I used to get into arguments just like Paul here, about how I thought she was gross.

yeah we went last night, looked like they used up more than a few '76 Gran Torinos,
and yes they are both a couple dorks playing a couple dorks but I got a laugh out of it.

I don't have a problem with Ben Stiller, it's that other jackass that I hate- Owen Wilson. I'll sit this one out just for that reason.

I think her makeup artists are under paid, no matter what they are making. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
When she looks good she looks very very good but the few candid shots I've seen of her were flat scary.

All those other cars were on there...in the write-in section. like was said before, most people are lazy, and just voted from the list. Besides, I think it was for the most recognizable movie or tv car, not the coolest. They also listed the General Lee as a hemi car.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
