Can anyone tell me the proper method of mounting a 34 Ford rad? Does it sit on a pad with springs on top like a Model A or '32? If so, how thick is the pad? First 34 for me. I notice that with no pad the lower rad hose will be a bear to install and I'm considering flattening the crossmember a bit so that would make it worse. Thanx

yes, it's just like you said.....about an 1/8" thick rubber pad between the frame mount and radiator...then the springs on top...of course, you may need some additional shims ,tweeking or whatever to make everything line up if you are going fenders/hood. what motor are you using? if you have a SBC and a walker radiator...try napa lower hose # 7286

Thanx Guys. That's the way I did my A's ans '32s, but thought I'd check. I won't be running any fenders but it will have a hood, so I know how critical the rad mounting is. Appreciae the part # too!

Instead of a Nylock, mine has a hole in the end of the bolt and a cotter pin. I think that's the original way and it's sure easier to remove when you're alone. 289,000 and neither one's even fallen out.
