Hey, everyone,
I've been lurking for a couple of years now, and at the urging of some HAMBer's I know, I finally decided to sign up and set myself up for some abuse. Of course being called "new" anything is something I haven't heard for a long time!
Having an older brother who was 16 in '55 (which made me eight), I was introduced to hot rods very early in life. Many of the cars seen on this board sat in front of our house on any given day in Independence, MO., back in the day. I have vivid memories of many of those cars, and many of the one's my brother drug home, much to our Dad's chagrin. Drove a $300 '56 Chevy in high school and still own the '57 Chevy I bought after wrecking the '56 following my freshman year in college. That Chevy and I became a legend...in my own mind! I've had a hot rod of one kind or another ever since.
I can think of alot more to say, but this gotten way too long, and for that I apologize. I have met many cool people since I have found the HAMB. I feel like many of you are personal friends after following your posts day after day. I probably won't post much, but I will do everything in my power to keep the tradition alive and see that those who are the heart and soul of our passion receive the respect they deserve.
